NSPD/51 re-visited - concern spreads .. very, very slowly and the MSM stay very, very quiet

Tumeric has kindly commented (blowing sky high our mutual and illicit transatlantic chocaholic attractions - in which Trader Joe's has a rather important role) and she has posted on the topic of NPSD 51 - she points us all to a discussion on Kos that started simultaneously with the Lord Patel's original post about NPSD -51 here

Most interesting comment (of 526 and counting) is this ..

The Miami Herald's Alfonso Chardy wrote a story on July 5, 1987 that linked Oliver North to FEMA planning from 1982-1984 to suspend the Constitution in the event of a national crisis. Jack Brooks (D-TX) tried to ask North about this in front of the cameras, but Chairman Daniel Inouye (D-HI) cut him off by saying that the question dealt with classified matters. Which you can now watch - the interesting bit starts at about 1 minute.




... it does all make you wonder about those camps that Halliburton was building.

    Dear Sir Choco-Lot,

    They are planning a major catastrophe somewhere and it must take place before the 2008 election. Wow! The powers that NSPD/51 give the Pres mean total and utter power, including that of disrupting the election, or the removal of Bushie from the seat of power. Arrgghhh!
