    I do like those VISA 'handover party' banners flanking the mayor of london town.
    And, while in no way endorsing her views, Leni did bring a certain verve to these sort of things cf this vapid ceremonial.
    A pity so many will be unable to read our magnificent, life affirming medal tally:

    Across Europe around 10% of the population falls into the low skills category; in Britain the figure is over 20%: eight million people are so poor at reading and writing that they cannot cope with the demands of modern life.
