During one of the darkest episodes in British History in the early 1990s the then British Government sat on its hands while tens of thousands of civilians were slaughtered by Serbian death squads in Bosnia. Douglas Hurd, advised by his then Security Chief, Pauline Neville Jones, (pic. recent picture of OAP Pauline) campaigned tirelessly to ensure that the legal government of Bosnia Herzegovina could not defend itself against Serbian murderers.

He called this disgraceful policy "ensuring a level playing field".Tens of thousands of women were raped, tens of thousands were killed, and the population of such cities as Sarajevo and Dubrovnik were besieged by the Serbs in a medieval display of barbarity. 90% of the casualties were on one side- an interesting version of a level playing fieldVery shortly after they left office, "Dame Pauline" and "Lord Hurd" as they became, joined Nat West Markets as senior advisers and directors.

Three months after that Nat West Markets gained privatisation mandates from the Milosovic government in Belgrade to sell Telecom Srbije. ** The mandates in addition to making Nat West, Lord Hurd and Dame Pauline millions of Pounds also allowed Milosovic to raise tens of millions and continue the policy of violence and oppression that ultimately led to British Forces going into action to defend the civilian population of Kosova against renewed Serbian atrocities.

Some would consider therefore that Dame Pauline has a rather questionable reputation.

The Conservatives are more forgiving- they just made her a peer of the realm in the latest reshuffle.

Silly me- I thought that integrity and honesty were values that had universal respect. In fact dishonesty, greed and double dealing seem more highly prized by Mr. Cameron's "Cavaliers".

I am sure that the war victims of Bosnia and Croatia will welcome this appointment with great delight.

PS. Cicero does not appear to be an admirer of Bonker's Boris either - his crooked friend and ex-jailbird, fraudster, wannabe jewel thief , and gold smuggler Darius Guppy (Earl Spencer's one time sparring partner) or it appears Jeffrey Archer.

On the BBC 4 "Today" programme , one of the principal mouthpieces of the Lady Dame Jane Pauline Neville Jones Fan Club was busy this morning with their spokesperson Lady Pauline calling for "just a couple of battalions" , complete with a Command Centre to act as a domestic , residential , well ...er Army.

Can't carry on using troops on a contigent basis...blah ..blah.. dedicated to protecting the homeland....Policy Group ... cannot make spending commitments...etc.,

We look forward to see how soon (Government Minister) Ex Admiral West who perfected the art of "losing" Admiralty documents to support Navy spending , taking up the General Dannet officially leaked memo about "overstretch" etc., and calling for a committed Homeland force.

Meanwhile a couple of monster aircraft carriers are a bit further down the slipway with their contingent Joint Strike Force aircraft, Trident is agreed upon, ...just a few of the major spending commitments shackling the armed forces committed to endless slogging land battles and skirmishes where they have insufficient, weapons, Land Rovers, helicopters, medical staff, field hospitals as a result of years of ignoring or mis-spending (Chinook's, Typhoon).

It is of interest that LDJPN-JFC member Lord Inge was effusive in support of fellow member Lord Paddy "Pantsdown" in the House of Lords last week.

Lord Inge, the former chief of Staff warned of a “strategic failure” in Afghanistan and he was, according to The Observer, speaking with the direct authority of the general staff .“The situation in Afghanistan is much worse than many people recognise,” Inge told the sleepy peers. “We need to face up to that issue, the consequence of strategic failure in Afghanistan and what that would mean for NATO ... We need to recognise that the situation - in my view, and I have recently been in Afghanistan - is much, much more serious than people want to recognise.”

“The consequences of failure in Afghanistan are far greater than in Iraq,” Ashdown said. “If we fail in Afghanistan then Pakistan goes down. The security problems for Britain would be massively multiplied. I think you could not then stop a widening regional war that would start off in warlordism but it would become essentially a war in the end between Sunni and Shia right across the Middle East.”

Calling for a withdrawal of troops from Iraq he said, ''We committed the cardinal sin of these interventions, which is to have ridiculously overambitious aims; to recreate Washington in Baghdad, to recreate a fully-functioning western-style democracy in a Middle Eastern country."... better bomb a civilised Western country like Yugoslavia from 20,000 feet eh Paddy?

They were of course absoluteley on the button... and the shortage of equipment for the Army can be fairly and squarely placed at the door of Lord Inge when he was responsible for the Army.

Well joy is unconfined at Patel Towers, My Lady Dame Jane Pauline Neville Jones is to join us in the House of Lords and the Boy David has put her in charge of terrism as a result.

The rest of the Fan Club in the Tory Party are overjoyed - such as Fatty Soames, a Director of the armed thugs called Aegis (Prop. Gnl. Tim Spicer) and of course the small but perfectly formed Mr Gove who we enjoy seeing so frequently on Newsnight will be jousting with Ed Balls in future.

All in all an exciting week for the Fan Club. Three "bombs" that could have killed hundreds of thousands of Scots off on Holiday, clubbers and queers all in one delirious weekend, and now this.

No doubt Lord Carlile who is so keen now to lock the bastards up for ever will be keeping an eye out for Lady Dame Jane Pauline.

With Stevens and West sorting out organising terrism at the Home Office and Lord Levy's son helping Tony really agitate the ordure in the Middle East... a long hot summer is in prospect.

It's time the Fan Club organised a T shirt, mugs, Mouse mats etc.,

It was a great re-assurance to see that calmly smirking Dame Pauline Neville-Jones had hurried to the studios of BBC Newsnight ( regrettably looking rather dishevelled in something vaguely khaki and military, evidently not having had the time to smarten herself up).

The plot ( 2 cars stuffed with incendiary materials, nails and a handily placed mobile phone activated but nonetheless easily dissembled and inactivated "detonating device" by a nerveless bomb squad officer casually leaning through the handily open window) is, she assured a waiting nation was / is "aimed at the new government".

believe there is some kind of al-Qaida link,"

Those would be the guys who did an end run round NORAD, steered incendiary planes into 2 skyscrapers causing them to fall in ways unknown to man or physics, smash into the most heavily guarded military building on Earth, killing thousands....etc.,




Evidently a change in strategy and tactics - quick of her ( and her BBC chum Frank G) to notice. .. "... I will be inclined..."

Good also to see that one "bomb" was identified by the Ambulance service and the other "bomb" had been man handled and dragged in it's incendiary state through the streets full of roistering clubbers by the ever zealous traffic wardens and left ignored for 18 hours.

It was therefore encouraging to see that the result of the squillions of taxpayers funds spent on terrists has not yet been used to remove the blundering, bovine Peter Clarke, The Sphincter of the Yard ( who had left his lunch pail behind this time) whose men are yet undertaking a further painstaking enquiry.

We can expect more of the same, - bombs in London that don't go off, the smirking Dame on Newsnight and the overweight "I speak you weight machine" Plod.... and ... er .. forensic pictures in the ownership of the Met appearing in US newspapers.

A "crystal clear CCTV " image of one of the drivers legging it, and the car number plates are as yet withheld from the public - no doubt, just in case someone could help the police with their enquiries.

Belfast solicitor and civil rights lawyer and activist Pat Finucane, who regularly was involved in legally representingmembers of the IRA was murdered in 1989. He was shot 14 times in front of his wife and 3 young children after 2 masked men burst into his north Belfast home.

Barrett, a former special branch informer, was jailed for 22 years in 2004 for Finucane's murder. He was released in May last year under the terms of the Good Friday Agreement, after a ruling by the sentences review commission, despite alleged (ie. non public) opposition by the Northern Ireland secretary, Peter Hain.

William Stobie, an RUC informer and former UDA quartermaster admitted supplying the guns used in the killing. He was charged with aiding and abetting the murder but walked free after the court case against him collapsed. A few weeks later, Stobie was shot dead by loyalists in December 2001, apparently because they feared he would give evidence against them over the killing.

Former Metropolitan police commissioner Lord Stevens into alleged collusion during the late 1980s and early 1990s in that of 2003, he found that rogue elements within the Royal Ulster Constabulary and British army intelligence helped loyalist paramilitaries to murder Catholics.

The report called Stevens III identified the role of the army's surveillance operations in Northern Ireland. THis was focussed on the ultra secretive Force Research Unit (FRU) (latterly Force Reconaissance Unit). Nine former members of the unit, including its former head Brigadier Gordon Kerr, (now said to be in Iraq running the Special Reconnaissance Regiment (SRR) - see pic in his full mess fig of Gordon Highlanders) were questioned, as well as seven police officers and one civilian.

No members of the security services will be charged following the long investigation into the murder of the Belfast solicitor Pat Finucane, prosecutors revealed today.

Today the Public Prosecution Service (PPS) said that, critically, there was not enough evidence to bring prosecutions. In a statement, the PPS cited missing records, problems of time elapsing, the death of potential witnesses and the difficulties of ascertaining "the role and responsibilities that individuals played in specific events".

The statement added: "In addition, the prosecution had to take account of potential abuse of process arguments by the defence that any trial at this stage would be unfair."

So the State Employed terrists get away with it again, and again ...and again.

147 soldiers dead in Iraq, 54 in Afghanistan - the human cost of 'humanitarian intervention' The PM's stand over the Balkans earned him credit, but he soon squandered it.

"Dame Pauline Neville-Jones, former political director of the Foreign Office and head of the Joint Intelligence Committee, recently told the Policy Exchange in London that Britain would have to persevere in Afghanistan, "which has become a test of our capacity and Nato's". But in the future, she added, "I don't think there will be a great appetite for humanitarian intervention."

Presumably the "The PM's stand over the Balkans", involved the bombing of civilians with 2,000 HE bombs, deliberate targeting of TV stations and their staff, killing journalists etc.,Certainly it was a stand that Lady Dame Pauline Neville Jones was able to benfit from commercally as a "private" citizen.

Many will remember and few forget how Lord Hurd and Lady Dame Jane Pauline Neville Jones joined NatWest Markets, investment arm of the National Westminster Bank on fat salaries., on a salary of £250,000 a year. In Belgrade in 1996 they had a memorable breakfast with Slobodan Milosevic, then head of a cash strapped and beleaguered government and Serbian workers quieing up for unpaid wages.

NatWest obliged by helping Slobodan Milosevic sell off the post and telephone system, PTT, and obtained a contract to advise on debt management and then tried the same trick on the Serbian electricity industry (the bits that suvived NATO bombing).
