Concept cars, dontcha just luv 'em !
Nissan have unveiled Pivo, its imaginative electric concept car, in partnership with renowned Japanese artist Takashi Murakami at the company's Nissan Ginza Gallery in downtown Tokyo for the 39th Tokyo Motor show..
The Ultra compact, easily manoeuvred Pivo, features an innovative cabin that revolves 360 degrees, eliminating the need to reverse. Thanks to its compact body, the car is also exceptionally easy to manoeuvre.
The three-seater (!) car is packed with “user-friendly technology”, 1. Nissan's Around View Monitor cuts blind spots by displaying the outside surroundings on LCD colour screens mounted either side of the windshield. No fuddy duddy old mirrors then. 2. A dash-mounted infrared (IR) commander allows the driver to operate the navigation and stereo systems with simple finger movements without letting go of the steering wheel. Whooooop de dooooo!!!. Finger controls !
Pivo is powered by Nissan's compact, high-performance lithium-ion battery and its unique Super Motor, resulting in zero emissions.
No mention of luggage space or number (and size) of cup holders.

Yup there were a few on Irish roads when I was growing up. the had an unfortunate tendency when you you opened the door to be blown around the place in a strong wind.
I also remember the "eggshell" fiats:

My mother, before the war had a tiny fiat for which I still have the receipt. £350 which was a lot of bread then.
There was also a Heinkel that seated 2 if I remember correctly.
I think Dornier made one as well. There was something vaguely ironic about the whole business
Perhaps to be used for smuggling bombs into the UK ?
