Total Energy UK Official Statistics
Should you be interested, you can view the official energy statistics for the UK at
http://www.dti.gov.uk/energy/inform/energy_stats/total_energy/ dated October 27th 2005 - and download Excel spreadsheets with very detailed figures.
Should you wish to discuss them, seek further information or elucidation you may contact the helpful, knowledgeable ShelleyMilford
e- mail Shelley.Milford@dti.gsi.gov.uk or by Telephone 020 7215 2703
She has helpfully summarised the figures on the first page of downloadable Excel spreadsheets ...
"Total production of indigenous primary fuels in the three months to August 2005 stood at 47.5 million tonnes of oil equivalent, 15.0 per cent lower than the corresponding period a year ago.
For the three months June 2005 to August 2005 compared to the same period a year earlier
- production of petroleum fell by 16.2 per cent;
- production of natural gas fell by 17.0 per cent;
- production of coal and other solid fuels fell by 24.9 per cent;
- electricity produced from nuclear sources rose by 11.8 per cent;
- electricity produced from wind and natural flow hydro fell by 4.4 per cent."
For some years now I have been promoting the Forth Coming United Kingdom Energy Deficit FCUKED.
I don't know about you but these figures scare me shitless.
