The Independent reported
....he "was found in his bed at the airport at the weekend"A few days prior to his death General Jackson visited Basra, perhaps he discussed Master's current enquiry into the events surrounding 6 tanks smashing a jail to release two putative SAS undercover agents who had been arrested by Iraqi police.
Defence sources said the death was "not due to hostile action and also not due to natural causes".
However, it is believed that investigators have not found a suicide note, nor firearms related to the incident. Capt Masters was not receiving any medical or psychological treatment.
"Let me make it clear that it was important to retrieve those two soldiers." General Jackson told the Times (quoted in the Times, 12 Oct 2005).
Whilst speculation about the activities of the two "SAS" men and the cause of death of Masters has been rife. The MOD have remained silent on both matters.
Global Research has provided a comprehensive account of the mystery so far.
