Keep an old carworker happy - Buy GM
GM lost $10.6 billion last year, Q1 2006 GM sold 2.2 million vehicles and lost $323 million. That means every time the company made a car or truck, it lost $147, its 6th Unprofitable Quarter in a row. (General Motors Acceptance Corp, made $605 million last quarter lending you the money to buy GM vehicles)
GM, who provide health care for 1.1 million employees, retirees and dependents, now tell the world , their shareholders ... and the Unions, that GM is the world's largest private purchaser of Viagra. They are paying out $17 million annually for impotence drugs such as Viagra and Cialis, said GM spokeswoman Sharon Baldwin.
OK so the life style drug bill (even outside the boardroom) is only a fraction of GM's overall health care costs. But at a total of US$5.6 billion each year, that's costing US$1,500 for every vehicle it builds.
