In a world Exclusive Daniel Hopsicker claims Deposed CIA head Porter Goss was once a member of the CIA's super-secret Operation 40, an assassination squad which roamed through North and Central America during the 1960's.

He says the man with the glasses in this photograph of that Op 40 crew is possibly Porter Goss (next to Barry Seal recruited by the same man who recruited Harvey Oswald) . Goss was a CIA operative but little is truly known about what he did.(Click here to enlarge pic)

He was democratic Senator for Florida and often shared matters with Bob Graham, like him a Democratic Senator then the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee... something unique to both of them is that on the morning of 9th September 2001 they had breakfast with the guy who was said to have mailed US$100,000 to Mohamed Atta.

Elsewhere Cannonfire brings up the strange case of John Millis, the former CIA hand who, in the year 2000, functioned as the staff director of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. That committee was Chaired by then-congressman Porter Goss.

In June 2000 , Millis was found dead in a bathtub in a the Breezeway Motel , Fairfax VA. (NYT report) "A spokesman for the Fairfax City police said officers were called to a motel about 8 p.m. on Sunday because a man was threatening suicide.(he had telephoned a friend) Officer Jeff Morrison said that when the police arrived they found Mr. Millis dead of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound." A note was found by the Police , they never released it or the contents,Security officials, however,recovered classified documents from a safe in Mr. Millis'home. After his death, Millis' wife spoke obliquely of a homosexual entanglement.

Newsweek has now made the connection that a nine fingered man at Wilkes parties was Brant Bassett - a man with a similiar career path to Millis ...backgrounds in covert ops on Porter Goss' staff on Capitol Hill. Both helped direct the Intelligence Committee.

Millis - man of Mystery.

In his 13 year career with CIA, Millis served in Pakistan with Afghani "Freedom Fighters" in the 1980s. Those Freedom Fighters, known as Mujahedeen, and led by radical Islamic leader Gulbadin Hekmatyar. At the time of his death Millis was added to the Clinton Body count as his death was related to those of of White House lawyer Vincent Foster and investigative reporter Danny Casolero. Others made a connection between his death and the loss of data / hard drives, which mysteriously re-appeared at Los Alamos.

CIA Director's Tenet eulogy at the time added nothing ..""I was informed by Chairman Goss this morning of the death of John Millis, the Staff Director of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. We in the Intelligence Community are shocked and saddened by this tragic loss. We have worked closely with John for many years. He was a tenacious advocate for a strong national intelligence capability. Stephanie and I express our deepest condolences to John's wife Linda and the Millis family on behalf of all the men and women of the Intelligence Community."

Goss said "It seems that there are always more 'whys' than there are answers when a ragedy like this occurs. It also seems that words alone are insufficient to alleviate the enormous pain we feel. John will be greatly missed by members and staff alike."

He failed to mention that Millis was on administrative leave and was under suspicion.
Why has never been made public.

Nothing has been publicly recorded and most people seem to accept that his wife's explanation may have had a bearing on his unexpected death.
