Bush disappears - bad news, he re-appears

One minute George is at Camp David in the green zone that is Maryland's Catoctin Mountains shooting the breeze about how they are going to use the oil revenues to fund projects to support the Gubment (Don says they tried this before but someone stole the oil ..or the money .. or maybe both).

The next he's off on the red- eye to Bagdhad.in a "dramatic" move - (probably checking on how goo 'ol boy Musab al-Zarqawi died with family and friends and no-one defending him.)

Bush met with Prime Minister al-Maliki in heavily fortified green zone at a palace once used by Saddam Hussein. It now serves temporarily as the U.S. Embassy.

“Good to see you,” exclaimed al-Maliki

“Thanks for having me,” Bush responded.

The trip was known only to a handful of aides and a small number of journalists sworn to secrecy - the thing is did they tell George?

Thisd is allegedly George's 2nd trip to Baghdad in less than three yearss. Last time he slipped beyond time and the stars and flew through the day / night for Thanksgiving 2003 in a visit with Condi who duidn't appear on a single photograph. - unless she was the stuufed turkey.

“We are committed to the success of this new government and the Maliki plan that he is outlining,” said Bartlett, who briefed reporters aboard Air Force One... which is better than being committed to their collective downfall, I guess.

Accompanying Bush on the trip were National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley, Chief of Staff Joshua Bolten, Deputy Chief of staff Joe Hagin, press secretary Tony Snow, Bartlett and a few others.

It was 100 degrees in Baghdad. Condileezza Rice the President's washroom attendant was not in the party ... let's hope he doesn't have a toilet moment. Posted by Picasa
