Dixie Chicks cock of the coop - storm Billboard No 1 Week 1.
Nationwide USA , "Taking the Long Way," by the Dixie Chicks has sold an awesome 526,000 copies its first week of release says Billboard. (one of thoise is mine) That's the third-biggest opening of the year, behind country group Rascal Flatts and veteran hard rock act Tool. The band's previous hit album, 2002's "Home," sold 780,000 copies its first week.1998's "Wide Open Spaces." sold 12 million.
Time cover, new online talk show "Amazon Fishbowl with Bill Maher," on "Larry King Live," "60 Minutes" and "Good Morning America." Target, have partenered a big promotion giving fans who bought their new album in Target stores early access to concert tickets for the band's upcoming North American tour
"I apologized for disrespecting the office of the president," Maines is quoted by Time in its May 29 cover story about what she said on an English tour about the President in 2003 "But I don't feel that way any more. I don't feel he is owed any respect whatsoever."
Since March 2003, though, the assholes who run most of the US country radio stations have dropped the Chicks from their playlists.... go out and buy ...buy !!!
65/70% of the US voters — the polls say — now have reservations about the leadership of George W. Bush. Natalie Maines’ rough, ready and raw desription of this profoundly despicable and mediocre little man seems today , well almost... charitable. Indeed, in a recent Rolling Stone cover story, Princeton history professor Sean Wilentz declares Bush a contender for the uncoveted title of worst president, ever.
Now...you want disrespect ? You want disrespect for this Texas ball scratching dumb, and fast disappearing President ? Hear / see Pink sing her "Dear Mr President"
