Manchester marchers in Albert Square
The march ended up in Albert Square in front of the Town Hall. Speeches were made from the base of the statue of Albert the Prince Consort.
Hawk eyed readers will note hte very prominent 6 pointed star of David which crests the facade on the memorial above the statue !
Paradoxically it was the Jewish Victorian and Edwardian mercantalists who developed the massive textile trade upon which so much of the wealth and prosperity of the Empire, the North West Textile industry and Manchester depended.
There has been over the past 4 decades a massive dispersal of the Jews from North Manchester to Israel.
