Death in the Street
This is taken from the excellent Paris Daily Photograph - It records the heroic death of student Henri Pilot at the age of 23 for France 62 years ago to the day . France has many such plaques remembering those who fought both the Germans and Vichy.
The flowers and flag make this eloquent because some survivor of the family lives and cares.
Stockwell station has a memorial to an unknown Brazilian electrician, a decent young man who was murdered by the Police - which is London's contribution to such public memorials.
