The Independent - how to be an Investigative fearless journalist in search of the ...er...Truth ? Report what the BBC say.
Postman Patel posted the story about the BBC DIY manual for terrist stories on Saturday
To save themselves time, money and effort the Independent took up one of the stories directly, simply restating the BBC story and adding an unproveable and easily deniable assertion about MI5 and POliece "privately conceding" etc.,
So we now have a story based on a story which relates to an "alleged plot" from un - named sources ...

Published: 18 August 2006
Police investigating the alleged terrorist plot to blow up transatlantic flights found a suitcase yesterday containing items which could be used to make a bomb.
The BBC reported that the discovery was made during a search in King's Wood, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. The corporation reported a police source as saying the suitcase contained "everything you would need to make an improvised device".
Scotland Yard last night refused to comment on the report, although in a separate development, MI5 and the police have privately conceded the alleged plot will prove to have links with the July 7 suicide bombers.
Just to refresh your memory here is the original BBC story ...
Terror detectives 'find bomb kit'
Police probing an alleged plot to bring down flights have found a suitcase containing items which could be used to construct a bomb, the BBC has learned.
Officers have been searching a piece of land called King's Wood in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.
A police source told the BBC the case contained "everything you would need to make an improvised device".
Other officers have confirmed only that a suitcase was found. Scotland Yard has not officially commented on any finds.
