McCann - UK Forensic test results - Dogs scented cadaver on Kates clothes and bear (peluche) says Correio da Manha - Kate interviewed today (alone)

Reuters report today that Portuguese police have received partial results of forensic evidence analysed in Birmingham which was retreved from the Mccann's apartment and various vehicles a month ago. As a consequence Kate McCann the mother of missing 4 year old Madeleine McCann is to be interviewed on her own by police on Thursday, a "spokesman for the family " said.

Other reports say that Kate McCann will attend the police station in Portimao in the Algarve at 2pm, accompanied by her lawyer, Carlos Pinto de Abreu.

Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha reported today that the scent of a corpse was been found by specially-trained dogs on Kate McCann's clothes and on the "peluche" - the bear. - see front page.

"JULGO QUE A HIPÓTESE MAIS FIÁVEL É HOMICÍDIO": Moita Flores, criminalista"

"I Judge that the hypothesisis is more an accident than homicide CRiminal Attorney Moita Flores."

The police have videos of the cadaver dogs undertaking their searches for use as evidence.Apparently forensic examination has been dificult as clothes which have been examined had been washed.

(The extraction of DNA from blood, saliva and sperm is very complicated. In this case the samples were even more difficult to determine - in respect to the blood detected in the apartment and the McCann's jeep(?)(jipe) of the McCann's, for the fact of the collected samples to be sufficiently contaminated and to have been washed, made the work of the specialists to "a series of still more sensible analyses", justifying the dealy of one month in producing the results.)
A source "close to the family " said Gerry McCann was expected to be interviewed by police on Friday.

"I can confirm that we have received part of the results and the team is satisfied (with the results)," said Portuguese police spokesman Olegario de Sousa.

Lord Patel's post of August 12th "McCanns - Nemesis" continues to draw a massive global readership - especially from Press / TV organisations.

Can't remember what kind of medical doctors these two are, but it's pretty certain that they'd have a fair idea how to, for example, clear off forensic or medical evidence of perhaps, say, one small corpse, wouldn't you say?

And it's still a mystery why Leicestershire Social Services hasn't investigated their childcare arrangements, particularly in view of their rather circumspect parenting in recent weeks of the remaining twins. Although I suppose they are cared for by some nanny, whilst ma and pa are travelling the world, are they?

hmmm, but how to do it (hypothetically, of course) without leaving your bijou holiday apartment reeking of Dettol and having a sackful of potentially incriminating wet wipes to dispose of?

2 Points

1. Unless murder was in mind the chances of being over equipped with the necessary materials is a bit slim. Thse are doctors remember - they don't go round cleaning down the operating theatre...even if they knew how.

2. Investigating DNA identification re the Kisko case I came across a lot of info (no refs to hand at present) - DNA is a very lengthy and persistent molecule (thank god or maybe our lives would be briefer).

It persists even after vigorous and chemical washing "e terem sido lavadas" - not putting to fine a point on it, ..er undergarments may be contaminated with the products of several individuals revealing a sexual (and detailed)history of the wearer. Apparently sufficient remains from blood and seen will survive 10 washings in a comercial washing machine.

Identification is possible even if only sections of the molecules can be identified wich can be compared with the perfect (and complete) sample from a suspect.

Hence the “uma série de análises ainda mais sensíveis”, be it blood , serum or saliva.

regarding the apparent inactivity of the Leics. Soc serv. one suspects they have not been entirely dormant... as the local Plod are heavily involved.

Maybe their legal powers are somewhat circumscribed as the case is sort of sub judice and overseas.

The Portuguese Police were apparently been slow to search for Madeleine initially.....then they tried to pin it on Murat.....to no avail....now its the parents!! Is there any chance the Police themselves are involved. It wouldnt be the first time that judges, police and other so called "pillars of the community" were involved in child porn and other related activities???

Re covering up.

Many doctors and nurses are extremely hygiene aware/paranoid, particularly in relation to their own small children. Milton steriliser liquid is often used to clean kitchen countertops, baby cups etc even though afaiaa it's just diluted bleach. So yes, I do think they'd know how to clean up. Have you seen how many disposable nappies the average 2 year old consumes? Chucking a few wet wipes or whatever would pose no problem in comparison.

Interesting re the DNA.

It's going to be an enlightening few days. What was absolutely marvellous this week was the press barons on Any Questions, Greg Dyke and Kelvin Mackenzie, expressing their utter horror at the consequences for the meeja should the McCanns have done in their daughter. Marvellous stuff: it's on 'Listen Again'. Well worth running in the background over your morning coffee.
