15 members of the Provisional IRA's South Armagh brigade beat to death lorry driver Paul Quinn 21, at a farm near Oram in County Monaghan last weekend.3 of his friends who had beenn used to entice him to the killing His three friends were later treated in hospital for their injuries. Quin had been driving lories with illegal fuel (probably sourced from the border farm of IRA supremo "Slab" Murphy which had been lost through accidents.
In a 30 minute asault Quinn was beaten to pulp and had many broken bones after upsetting the South Armagh Provisionals after getting the better of a senior veteran republican in the area in a fist fight.
Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams and Northern Ireland's Deputy First Minister, Martin McGuinness, have condemned the killing and urged the public to co-operate in police investigations on both sides of the border.
As Quinn was buried on Thursday, the DUP deputy leader and finance minister, Peter Robinson, made his budget announcement in Stormont, feet away from his Sinn Fein ministerial colleagues.
Nothing more will be heard until the criminal gangs issue their next fatwah on the dissidents in their criminal ranks.
