Massarene... I thought I read Madeleine for a moment...
Only because a BBC article mentioned her name today...Gerry McCann was giving his 2p to the MPs of the culture, media and sport select committee.
Alongside him, his old trusty friend Clarence Mitchell was there tellin the select(ed) committee of:
"the "ridiculous situation" where journalists would approach him and say "I have to get a front-page splash on this by the end of the day or my job's on the line."
"It was like a one-story newsroom. Regardless of what we would say or do, the story would appear on the front page next day anyway."
Was Clarence not aware of how the media worked (being a previous director of the Government's media monitoring unit)?
Clarence is now 'a consultant specialising in crisis and issues management, media training and scenario planning' at PR and marketing agency Freud Communications...
