Des Browne part time soldier
Credit due to Beu Bo D'or Lord Patel sat next to a Lt Colonel in the Army last night to celebrate Lancashire day and was astonished to hear of the resentment about the Scottish solictor who is moonlighting as both Minister of Defence and for somewhere called Scotland.
A country that lost to the spaghetti munchers and now has lost it's manager - perhaps Des will have a go in his spare time.
Readers may wish to consider how he spends his days ..

Nuclear Weapons
Bob Spink: To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what assessment he has made of the potential impact of the use of nuclear weapons on climate change. [115894]
Des Browne: We have monitored discussion in the academic arena on the possible effects of a large scale nuclear exchange on the world's climate but we have not undertaken any such assessments ourselves. Most recently, a study was presented to the annual meeting of the American Geophysical Union in December 2006 on the subject. This found that even a small scale regional nuclear war could disrupt the global climate for a decade or more.
Good enough reason to cancel Trident.
