Policeman Overboard ! Ex Policeman Undercover

Inspector Neil Munro, 43, of Dorset Police bought a ticket and boarded the Brittany Ferries ship alone late last night in Poole, Dorset which set sail at 11.45 pm.

His body was found just down the coast on a beach bordering Poole harbour at 8.30am.

The last time he hit the headlines was a few days earlier on March 5th when he broke up a student party in Winton, Bournemouth of a feckless student who advertised their party on Bebo - and 200 turned up. Drunk. " It is never a good idea to encourage or allow strangers into your home" said Inspector Munro.

Peter Power , a Superintendant in Dorset Police, was once the subject of a file passed to the Director of Public Prosecution as a result of an investigation by Dorset Police.

Peter Power retired from Dorset Police, which had suspended him on full pay, on the grounds of ill health before any decision was taken by the DPP on whether to act upon the file.

Peter Power was running a terror exercise on July 7th 2005 which, in his own words that evening, was “based on simultaneous bombs going off precisely at the railway stations where it happened this morning, so I still have the hairs on the back of my neck standing upright!“.

Peter Power has never provided a sliver of evidence to support his claim made on radio that day. Neither has anyone else.

Peter Power has never explained what caused his suspension and reitrement from Dorset Police.

Peter Power and the Dorset Police have some explaining to do.

Ho Ho Ho...

Sir Ian Blair of the Met Police alerted colleagues in Manchester and a huge search (for Michael Todd) was immediately launched.

Not so huge, however, that it was mentioned in the Home Office meeting that Michael Todd was supposed to attend the next day, on Tuesday 11th March ... he wasn't there there was no explanation given for his absence...

The link to the Manchester Evening News article (behind the word alerted in the 1st post) now leads to a different story (sans the name Ian Blair).

A copy of the original MEN article is here.
