Bathroom chemists - has Plod got it cracked ?

BBC - And plastic trays containing bicarbonate of soda and citric acid were also discovered.

Hmmm , now what else can you make that requires cooking on a hot plate and then cooling ?Hint Citric acid has a role for injectors.

UPDATE from the soaraway Sun "Among items discovered in the bedrooms including hot plates on the floor and trays holding funnels, spoons and filter paper"

UPDATE Sunday
Worth going back to the pic and tale of the bomb factory in the Daily Mirror By Ryan Parry Us Correspondent In New York 8/01/2007 THE BEDSIT BOMBERS

This passed our DIY bomb experts by at the time ..."And Mr Cordes warned recipes to make bombs from household items are widely available on the internet. Flour and pepper can be used to desensitise the toxic mix."

WTF "desensitise the toxic mix" means is a secret which we would welcome someone sharing with us.

Also from the BBC article
" Mr Todd told the jury that he "seriously doubted" that the four bombers could have conceived and executed the detailed construction of their devices and would have had some "information, help or advice""
I expect this was from Peter Power or his client?

Very sensibly they are not users but brokers, dealers, identifiable by;

1. Curious capacity to hire motor vehicles for lengthy journeys to distribute their product.
2. Tendency to buy red Mercedes Saloons for schlepping to and from the gym...although blacked out top of the Range Rovers have become more favoured of late.
3. Tendency to buy huge quantities of very expensive perfumes and toilet products on very flush credit card accounts.
4. When dead to reveal at an early age substantial cash resources.
5. Be unemployed in the traditional sense of having a close working relationship with HMRC.
6. To attract the attention of Plod who not infrequently introduces bugs into their motor vehicles, property etc.,

Do you then think HMRC controls the drug supply in the UK? It's quite interesting that the most important area for heroin in Afghanistan which produces at least a third of the world's heroin now is patrolled by British troops. Maybe the government's enthusiasm for casinos is so that it can launder the proceeds through them

don't forget that we've also got troops in Kosovo and that HMRC appears to have a fairly inclusive policy when it comes to dealing with dealers

as does Arsenal FC come to think of it

Citric acid is a catalyst in the production of HMTD home made explosives.

But where is there any mention of any traces of hexamine e.g. from smokeless camping fuel tablets etc. ?

Or "industrial size refrigerator" ?

The Million pound offer still stands.
