ISAF and Coalition Continue to bomb the shit out of Iraq and Afghan in the name of Freedom and to win Hearts and Minds
48 close-air-support missions were flown as part of the ISAF and Afghan security forces, reconstruction activities and route patrols.
In Afghanistan, Air Force F-15E Strike Eagles performed shows of force to deter enemy activities in the vicinity of Bari Kowt, Gardez, Gereshk, Lashkar Gah and Qalat. On-scene joint terminal attack controllers (JTAC) confirmed the missions successful.
An Air Force B-1B Lancer dropped guided bomb unit-31s and a GBU-38 to destroy enemy rocket teams in the vicinity of Bermel. A JTAC reported the mission successful.
In the vicinity of Deh Chopan, a B-1B dropped GBU-38s to destroy anti-coalition members. A JTAC declared the mission successful.
In total, coalition aircraft flew 48 close-air-support missions for Operation Iraqi Freedom.
On June 10, USAF and RAF tanker crews flew 52 sorties and off-loaded approximately 2.4 million pounds of fuel to 201 receiving aircraft. (Which is a lot more than usual) .
