Harley Davidson to take over GM
Harley-Davidson, Inc. (HOG) share price Friday US$16.60 Market capitalisation US$ 3.86 Bn.
General Motors (GM) Share price Friday US$ 4.08 Market capitalisation US$ 2.49 Bn.
Maybe the US Government should buyout the GM shareholders and give the company to Harley Davidson with guarantees for a loan for working capital for say 5 years.
Fuck it ! They have a very impressive history, sound management and they surely couldn't do worse than those ass holes in Detroit.
Jim Ziemer has been CEO only since 2005, he is a Harley-Davidson lifer. He started out at the company in 1969 as a freight elevator operator in the union and completed two college degrees while working there. In 1970, he took a "short vacation," joining the army for two years, but came right back to work in manufacturing and engine operations.
To say that Ziemer is proud of Harley-Davidson is an understatement. He loves to describe the camaraderie that exists in the company, and that passion is contagious to those who own a Harley. "This is the greatest company in the world to work for," Ziemer says. "Our mission statement is we fulfill dreams to motorcycling experiences. We've got the best brand in the world, we've got the best product in the world. People aspire to our product. I get these constant stories that we change people's lives, we save people's lives. It's very fulfilling to work here. The spirit and camaraderie and what we're about can't be duplicated any place else."
Desperate times ... desperate measures.
Hint ..play this very VERY LOUD
