Hillary Clinton met Pesident elect Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem during her recent visit to Israel. When they entered his office 20 year veteran Mossad appartchik Uzi Arad was at Bibi's" side. Arad’s involvement in the “AIPAC case” and the Franklin spy case (The Pentagon analysts pleaded guilty in 2005 to providing classified information about Iran in a conversation with two employees of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) - this resulted in Arad being barred from entry into the US.

Arad has been denied a U.S. visa since June 2007 under section 212 3(a) of the Immigration and Nationality Act. Consular officers and the Justice Department authority can bar people who may seek "to violate any law of the United States relating to espionage or sabotage" from entering the country.

As soon as Secretary Clinton and her advisers realized Arad was standing next to Netanyahu in the meeting room, they tried to discreetly avoid diplomatic complications by requesting that “only three participants from each side stay in the meeting”. It was an indirect way of requesting that Mr Arad leave the room. But the US delegation was stunned when Israel’s Prime Minister-Designate kept the former Mosad agent present, choosing instead to kick out Israel’s Ambassador to the United States, Sallai Meridor. Clinton’s delegation did not say a word about the Netanyahu’s diplomatic slap-in-the-face, hoping the incident would not make headlines. Ambassador Meridor was not so insensitive about the affair. He was so put off that he announced his resignation soon afterwards.

Netanyahu’s office later explained that Arad’s presence was required in the meeting “because of the Iranian issue,” and furthermore don't give a flying fuck what the US Secretary of State thinks

Arad is an advocate of “maximum deterrence” towards Iran and has said Israel should threaten to strike ‘everything and anything of value.’ He has said Israel should threaten to hit the Iranian leadership and their holiest sites and that they should hit everything together. This comes from the man tipped to become Netanyahu’s national security adviser.

Arad has distinctive vies on the Palestinian people. During an interview on Israel National News TV (Arutz Sheva is a media network based in the West Bank and is seen as the voice of the Jewish settler movement), Arad was asked whether the time has come to abandon the two-state solution. This is how he responded:

I don’t think that one has to go that far because at the end of the day, I don’t think the majority of Israelis want to see themselves responsible for the Palestinians. We do not want to control the Palestinian population. It’s unnecessary. What we do want is to care for our borders, for the Jewish settlements and for areas which are unpopulated and to have our security interests served well. But also to take under our responsibility these populations which, believe me, are not the most productive on earth, would become a burden. We want to relieve ourselves of the burden of the Palestinian populations - not territories. It is territory we want to preserve, but populations we want to rid ourselves of.

Haaretz report today that Israel rounded up 10 Hamas leaders in the West Bank early today , two days after indirect talks between Israel and the Islamic militant group on a deal to secure Gilad Shalit's release broke down.

Among those detained were four Hamas lawmakers, a university professor and a former Hamas deputy prime minister.

Also Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, an armed wing of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah movement, on Thursday said two of its men died in a missile strike in central Gaza, close to the border fence with Israel - this was denied by the IDF.

NYPD in Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear Terrorism , Ring of Steel , Manhattan lockdown in Operation Sentinel exciting surge initiative

The NYPD is apparently working on a plan to transform Manhattan , into a copy of highly secure London's financial centre . The UK capital's "ring of steel" uses automatic number plate recognition at 16 entry and 12 exit points where the roads have been narrowed and marked with iron posts to force drivers to slow down. Now NYPD are starting with a somewhat belated effort to guard against a terrorist attack by copying the limeys.

Operation Sentinel, will operate at all tunnels, and bridges ,it will also using sensors to detect the presence of radioactivity.

Paul Browne, deputy police commissioner for public information says the data collected would be stored for at least a month and then eliminated if it were not linked to a law enforcement investigation. In the UK nobody knows how long theykeep the data.

Steven Emerson, executive director of the Investigative Project on Terrorism in Washington, told the NYT: “The bottom line is they can’t frisk everybody coming into Manhattan. They can’t wand everyone as they do at airports.” We have news for you Steve - we are already doing this with random checks on railway stations.

"This is a tool" he says, "to identify if someone , is on a terrorist watch list or driving erratically, or if a pattern develops that raises suspicions, it gives them an opportunity to investigate further and if need be, track down the drivers or the passengers.”

On top of this the entire 16-acre World Trade Center site will form a tight security zone, in which only specially screened taxis, limousines or cars would be allowed to enter past barriers staffed by NYPD.

All service and delivery trucks for the site would be directed to an underground bomb screening center near ground zero.

New York began installing 1,000 closed-circuit cameras with 3,000 sensors in the city’s subway system in 2004. Let's hope that they manage to capture the events when some inoccent gets murdered by the state as they irritatingly do in the UK.

FBI Director Robert S. Mueller said in May 2007 that Osama bin Laden (if he is still alive , on the FBI wanted list, retired on a CIA pension etc.,) and his terrorist group desperately want to obtain nuclear devices and explode them in American cities, especially New York and Washington, D.C., in an effort to kill hundreds of thousands of Americans.

He said ominously: “We are going to be hit at some point. It’s just a question of when and to what extent.”

Mueller said the nuclear threat is so real that he sometimes wakes up in the middle of the night worrying about that possibility.

In the Washington Times (owned by Sun Myung Moon) on June 11th last year he is quoted "it was only a matter of time and economics before terrorists will be able to purchase nuclear weapons and that the world's law-enforcement community must unite to prevent it.

"Our greatest weapon is unity," Mr. Mueller said at the Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear Terrorism law-enforcement conference in Miami.He also noted that, " Osama bin Laden sought to buy uranium in Sudan in 1993." That recent Bob ? Hey , he must have a whole warehouse full by now.

On 28 February 2007, during the Israeli invasion of Nablus (Operation " Hot Winter ") , the IOF kidnapped 11-year-old Jihan Tahdush from her home in the Old City of Nablus.

She was used as a human shield while Israeli forces conducted door-to-door searches in the Old City. Jihan says of the incident:

"They gave me biscuits to persuade me to talk to them, but I didn't tell them anything. When I brought them to the house they told me not to be afraid because they were with me. When I asked to go back to my mom, they said, 'We have to keep you a bit longer.'"

As everyone knows, Saddam has no weapons of mass destruction (i.e gas, biological nor the means of delivery outside Iraq) , all military forces in NATO and UN also know such weapons have limited lethality or use in the battlefield.

Iraq has not and is unlikely to have nuclear weapons or means of delivery in foreseeable future.

How the US armed Saddam - and how Israel tried to

At a Senate Armed Services hearing the previous week, Byrd tried to disinter the history of the weapons supplied . ''Did the United States help Iraq to acquire the building blocks of biological weapons during the Iran-Iraq war?'' he asked Rumsfeld. ''Certainly not to my knowledge,'' Rumsfeld replied. When Byrd persisted by reading a current Newsweek article reporting these exports, Rumsfeld dismissively (and we know completely untruthfully) said, ''I have never heard anything like what you've read, I have no knowledge of it whatsoever, and I doubt it.''

There is in fact a Senate Banking Committee report dated May 25, 1994. In 1985 (five years after the Iraq-Iran war started) and succeeding years, which reported, ''pathogenic (meaning ''disease producing''), toxigenic (meaning ''poisonous'') and other biological research materials were exported to Iraq, pursuant to application and licensing by the U.S. Department of Commerce.'' It added: ''These exported biological materials were not attenuated or weakened and were capable of reproduction.''

The report details 70 shipments (including anthrax bacillus) from the United States to Iraqi government agencies over three years, concluding, ''It was later learned that these microorganisms exported by the United States were identical to those the United Nations inspectors found and recovered from the Iraqi biological warfare program.''

Such assistance followed on and was a consequence of President George H.W. Bush signing National Security Directive 26 on Oct. 2, 1989. Classified ''secret'' ( recently declassified) it said:

''Normal relations between the United States and Iraq would serve our longer-term interests and promote stability in both the Gulf and the Middle East. The United States government should propose economic and political incentives for Iraq to moderate its behavior and to increase our influence with Iraq.''

It was the Newsweek article (by Christopher Dickey and Evan Thomas) that so interested Byrd and which he quoted from to the Armed Forces Committee reported on Rumsfeld's visit to Baghdad on Dec. 20, 1983, that launched U.S. support for Saddam against Iran. Answering Byrd's questions, Rumsfeld said he did meet with Saddam and Foreign Minister Tariq Aziz, but was dismissive about assisting ''as a private citizen . . . only for a period of months.'' Rumsfeld contended he was then interested in curbing terrorism in Lebanon. Of course.

Howard Teicher a Reagan National Security Council aide who accompanied Rumsfeld to Baghdad,on Jan. 31, 1995. in sworn court testimony said Rumsfeld relayed Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir's offer to help Iraq in its war. ''Aziz refused even to accept the Israeli's letter to [Saddam] Hussein offering assistance,'' said Teicher, ''because Aziz told us that he would be executed on the spot.''

Teicher also described a still-secret National Security Decision Directive signed by President Reagan in June 1982 that set forth a U.S. policy of preventing Iraq from losing its war with Iran.

"CIA Director Casey personally spearheaded the effort to ensure that Iraq had sufficient military weapons, ammunition and vehicles to avoid losing the Iran-Iraq war,"

Teicher stated.

The Teicher affidavit merited only a brief reference in a "defense & diplomacy" round-up in the Washington Post (2/4/95). The New York Times also published a cursory account of the new information (2/5/95); almost all other major newspapers ignored it. Indeed, among America's major papers and networks, only the Miami Herald gave the trial (of Teledyne execs selling cluster bombs to Cardoen Industries) regular coverage.

His testimony of course supported the New Yorker article (11/2/92) by reporters Murray Waas and Craig Unger, claiming that Vice President George Bush in 1986 urged Saddam Hussein to intensify his air war against Iran--in order to increase Iran's demand for U.S.- made anti-aircraft weapons. Appearing two weeks before the '92 election, the New Yorker article was attacked in the conservative press. On the Wall Street Journal's editorial page (10/28/94), Steven Emerson mocked the article as a "Byzantine conspiracy theory."

IDF to hit Hezbollah / Hamas soon - or very soon - even

John Keegan writes an exceedingly interesting article in the Daily Torygraph today ...

He concludes .....

What is certain is that – probably before the year is out – Israel will have struck at Hizbollah in south Lebanon. And the strike will come even sooner if Hizbollah reopens its missile bombardment of northern Israel from its underground systems.

He explains the role of tunnels / bunkers in warfare - especially in Vietnam and how they played a major role in the Hezbollah resistance.... and also their role as a supply route in Gaza.

Tunnel systems have played a crucial part in many modern campaigns, without attracting much attention. That is a serious oversight. The success of the Viet Cong in sustaining its war effort in Vietnam in 1968-72 depended heavily on its use of the so-called War Zone B, a complex of deep tunnels and underground bases north of Saigon, which had been begun during the war against the French in 1946-55.

He goes on to explain to explain the absolutely fundamental function of the IDF ...

Since Israel's reason for existence is to provide a secure base for the Jewish people, and that of the IDF is to act as their shield and safeguard – functions that have been carried out with high success since 1948 – it is obvious that neither can tolerate a zone of invulnerability occupied by a sworn enemy located directly on Israel's northern border.

He also identifies the well known, directed and ruthless policy of the Israel Gubment - (not in any way reduced after the introduction of Mr Leiberman trailing clouds of Netanyahu and Sharon. ED.)

Destroying the underground military facilities may be straightforward, but it is likely to create diplomatic complexities, particularly with the UN. Entering south Lebanon risks provoking a clash with Unifil, the major part of whose strength is provided by France. It is unlikely that such a risk will deter Israel. When national survival is at risk, Israel behaves with extreme ruthlessness. It attacked an American communications ship during the Six-Day War because it objected to America listening in to its most secret signals.

He doesn't mention of course that the Liberty sailors who survived are sworn to absolute secrecy under threats so dire that nobody has yet really told the full story. If anything shows the power of the Zionist Lobby in America it is the Liberty incident.... and that was in 1967 ... things have only got worse since.

He also adds concerns about Syria which might explain the recent diplomatic efforts which have been publicised this week ..

The big question hanging over an Israeli return to south Lebanon is whether that would provoke a war with Syria, Lebanon's Arab protector. The answer is quite possibly yes, but that such an extension of hostilities might prove welcome both to Israel and to the US.

Keegan is a well informed commentator and his stark conclusion provides a sobering view of the near term prospects inn the ME. It reflects the recent massive reprisal in Gaza after a recent rocket attack.

In recent days, senior Israeli military officers have argued for a broader assault on the strip, since the rocket attacks, while declining in intensity, have continued. Israel's security cabinet rejected the military's request Wednesday but voted to continue what Israeli officials describe as ``pinpoint'' operations.

Perhaps it is worth remembering that Suez was launched just before the US presidential election ... does the distraction afforded by next's week voting in the US offer an opportunity ?

Udo Ulfkotte ? Tales of Terrorists

Der Krieg im Dunkeln (War in the Dark) is a book recently published by Udo Ulfkotte,(see pic). Previously a correspondent for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, he now teaches security management and defense against terror at a north German university.

Wayne Madsen picked up on his book and the details he provides of the operations of two Israeli intelligence units in France ;

Metsada - specialising in sabotage, including "false flag" terrorist attacks and assassinations
LAP (Lohamah Psichlogit) - which engages in psychological warfare

Ulfkotte claims that British and German intelligence agents encountered Metsada and LAP agents in France stirring up violence during the November 2005 riots, blamed on Islamic extremists. WMR also reported that Interior Minister and presidential candidate Nicolas Sarkozy ( A Roman Catholic with a Jewish mother - Andrée Mallah) , who is supported by pro-right wing Israeli (Likud/Netanyahu/Olmert) factions in France .

Sarkozy he says coordinated and continues to coordinate the paying of agents provocateurs to engage in violence in the predominantly Muslim Banlieus of Paris and other cities. The November 2005 riots spread from Paris to Rouen, Lille, Nice, Dijon, Strasbourg, Marseilles (where Mossad's Branch C, also responsible for Paris and London, maintains a large station), Bordeaux, Rennes, Pau, Orleans, Toulouse, Lyon, Roubaix, Avignon, Saint-Dizier, Drancy, Evreux, Nantes, Dunkirk, Montpellier, Valenciennes, Cannes, and Tourcoing.

Ulfkotte also quotes a British MI-6 source who reported that Israel's goal is to portray Muslims as "unpredictable threats who cannot be integrated into Western society."

Wayne Madsen has subsequently provided a scan today of the appropriate pages (56/57) in the book in which it is clear what Ulkotte wrote.

A visit to his website and a read of his essay "The world turned upside down" provides a greater insight into Herr Ulfkotte. Evidently he has a wide experience, excellent contacts within the German Government and their Security Services. He also has another website "World Turned upside Down"

Quite where the Truth lies with Herr Ulfkotte it is difficult to discern.
