IPCC - a result ?
I wrote to the IPCC a few days ago, (see previous post) asking about the remit the IPCC had over people involved in the Stockwell shooting who were not police staff and were perhaps military personnel either from the UK or overseas.
This is the reply I received hours ago, which is evidently a 100% stock response to all enquiries. I would urge anyone to make enquiries, and continue making them...they must be made directly aware of the international interest in the matter.
Dear Sir,
Thank you for your email.
The IPCC's independent investigation into the shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes in Stockwell on Friday 22 July continues and is making good progress. Our focus is on the search for the truth about the death of Jean Charles de Menezes.
The investigation into the shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes will cover all circumstances relating to the incident. At this time the IPCC has made it clear that we would not speculate or release partial information about the investigation, and that others should not do so. That remains the case.
We have issued a number of press statements relating to the issues surrounding the investigation. These can be viewed on our website via : http://www.ipcc.gov.uk/index/news.htmBoth which will be regularly updated with new information when available.

Make of it what you will.Naturally I will be asking for a specific answer to the question which does not of course have any connection with their immediate enquiry and simply asks for clarification of their powers of enquiry and reporting.
Meanwhile in s spirit of helpfulness the Police Federation AND the Metropolitan Police Federation are reported (AP / Scotsman ) to have written last week, to the Home Secretary asking for an independent inquiry into the leaks from the Jean Charles de Menezes investigation.
They
The concept of the Police being concerned about the leakage of information to the Press boggles the mind. Why don't the uniformed tourist attractions just get on with their fucking job without shooting inoccent people?

Cinderella! The glass slipper may be yours! Who knows? As soon as the Royal Committee completes its inquiry, we will not fail to communicate our findings to you should the occasion warrant! In the meantime, our policy forbids access by scullery maids to the royal grounds, not to mention marriage with the Crown Prince. Thank you for your comprehension and we trust that you will comply with the rules as now enforced. Also, magic is frowned upon.
Sincerely,
The Royal Committee for Lost and Found
