Massive wave of Anti-Semitism terrorises Northern Ireland - Zionists organise

David Amess (Southend West, Conservative and raised as Roman Catholic - also Parliamentary Adviser to the Caravan Club) was busy worrying Paul Goggins (Minister of State, Northern Ireland Office) yesterday and asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what reports he has received on levels of anti-Semitism in Northern Ireland since December 2008 Hansard

The estimable Goggins (also raised as a Roman Catholic) explained this was really a matter for the First Minister (Peter Robinson ) and deputy First Minister (Gerry Adams - never knowlingly assassinated a Jew) who are responsible for issues surrounding anti-Semitism.

In a written reply Goggins said he was advised that the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) record crimes or incidents that have a religious motivation, however these are not routinely broken down into different faiths (which is odd in this deeply divided part of the Kingdom where they are still shooting police and soldiers).

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PNSI) he explained said there been five such crimes or incidents since December 2008, including at least one of an anti-Semitic nature.

This concen about an illusory wave of Jew baiting, and vile and violent asssaults on the blameless Jews in Northern Ireland has coincided with a very odd public meeting.

More than 200 people attended, including Northern Ireland government ministers, British MPs, and members of the Northern Ireland Assembly met at the Great Hall Stormont on March 12th to hear REvPaisley launch the Northern Ireland Friends of Israel.

According to a Lawyer and a Jew ,Steven Jaffe, principal organizer of the launch, who represents Belfast on the Board of Deputies of British Jews there has been "There has been a upswing in anti-Israel activity in Northern Ireland recently".

According to him “Three local authorities passed resolutions boycotting Israel, as did the Irish Congress of Trade Unions.”

The Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU -600000 members in 55 unions) launched a report on Israel and Palestine (10th Feb 2009) compiled by senior members who visited the region.

Predictably the DUP dismissed the report as unbalanced and urged unions to concentrate on local economic issues, Sinn Fein President Gerry Adams who hosted the report’s launch in Stormont’s Long Gallery commended the trade unionists.

Protestant trade unionist Terry McCorran co-organized the event. He is a member of UNISON - The Public Service Union, the second largest trade union in the United Kingdom, with more than 1.3 million members. How he consulted embers about their collective stance is unknown - you may wish to visit the Trade Union Friends of Israel website.

Henry Grunwald, president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, addressed the launch meeting, leaving “no doubt as to the nature of Hamas and its desire to destroy Israel.”

“Clearly Hamas would have to change greatly before it could be admitted into the peace process,” he said. Presumanly beimg the democratically elected government of Palestine / Gaza isn't enough for this Jeffersonian liberal.

More of this at Jerusalem Post

Sir Ronald Storrs, the first British military governor of Jerusalem, explained that the Zionist “enterprise was one that blessed him that gave as well as him that took, by forming for England ‘a little loyal Jewish Ulster’ in a sea of potentially hostile Arabism.” The Zionists would be the Orangemen of Palestine.

IDF Chief in Washington - combined chat on bombing Iran and a little heavyweight shopping for military equipent

Whatever the state of (apparent) rapprochement between Syria / US the constant interchange between the IDF and the US Armed forces and suppliers of US military equipment go on - seemingly unstoppable.

This weekend IDF Chief of General Staff Lt.-Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi will make his 2nd visit (5 days scheduled) to the US along with accompanied by IDF Spokesman Brig.-Gen. Avi Benayahu and Israel's Military Attache in Washington Maj.-Gen. Benny Gantz will be in Washington to meet National Security Adviser Gen. James Jones, a meeting Israeli officials said was of extreme importance due to the important role Jones plays in the Obama administration as far as setting policy vis á vis Israel and the Palestinians.

Ashkenazi will also hold intelligence consultations and meet Dennis Ross, who was recently appointed a "special adviser" to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Iran and looks after the varied interests of AIPAC of which he was a joint founder.Haartez says he will meet the heads of AIPAC.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Mike Mullen is off fishing in Wyoming for the weekend and during Ashkenazi's visit. Instead, the IDF chief will meet with top Navy, Air Force and Army commanders.

He will also be a guest of honor at the annual "Supporters of the IDF" convention in the New-York and will address its participants.

Lt. Gen Ashkenazi is also scheduled to conduct meetings with the staff of the Permanent Mission of Israel to the United Nations in New York, war criminal Mr. Henry Kissinger, former Secretary of State as well as with the heads of the New York Jewish Federation country’s largest Jewish federation. ( They have just announced cutting 52 employees -- slightly more than 11 % of their staff. The layoffs, along with the decision to eliminate 20 staff positions that are now unfilled and other administrative cuts will save the federation an estimated $7.4 million)

Ashkenazi's agenda

1. The alleged Iranian nuclear threat. Earlier this week, Military Intelligence head Maj.-Gen. Amos Yadlin told the cabinet that Iran had crossed the technological threshold needed to develop a nuclear weapon.

Last week, Mullen said in an interview that Iran had obtained enough fissionable material to develop a single weapon - which raised a smile no doubt in Iran. Memories too of the wild, unreal and dishonest claims we now see were falsified by the JIC about Saddam's weapons by the A Cambell lying machine (prop T Blair , Vice President Mr J Powell) . Keep the steady beat for those drums of war Mike !

2. Israel's request to insert indigenous technology in the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF now officially Lightning II) that the IAF intends to purchase (be given) in the coming year. The Pentagon has so far rejected a request to allow Israel to install its self-developed electronic warfare and radar systems.

Olmert yanks Bush's chain Part 276.

Those rebuttals by White House PR bulshit merchants just really don't seem to ring tru. If not true why not simply deny them and call Olmer ta Liar ? Condi's explanation is even more extreme ..."And I had made very clear that I thought the resolution was premature, and there were also concerns about a resolution that had Israel, a member-state of the United Nations, and Hamas, which is a terrorist organization, you don't ever want there to be any equating those two." ... if this is such a fundamental problem why were you even talking about the resolution ...seems late in the day to bring that up.

Is the Israeli Government isn't a democratically elected terrorist organisation - of course it is.

Dennis Ross co-founder of AIPAC appointed as Obama's special envoy to Iran and overall Middle East “czar.”

President Elect Barack Obama has appointed Dennis Ross as his special envoy to Iran and overall Middle East “czar.” It is impossible to imagine anyone who would be less of an honest broker in the Middle East.

Dennis Ross was Bill Clinton's Middle East envoy where he was somewhat pro-Israel and he seems to have become more of an neocon-oriented Israel Firster since then. His post-Clinton record includes supporting the pro-Iraq War campaigns of the neocon Project for the New American Century (PNAC) and serving as a senior fellow with the Washington Institute for Near East Policy (WINEP), a significant pro-Israel think tank in Washington

Mearsheimer and Walt describe WINEP as ‘part of the core’ of the Israel lobby. In “The Israel Lobby and US Foreign Policy,” they write:

"Recognizing the need for a prominent but seemingly ‘objective’ voice in the policy area surrounding Israel, former AIPAC president Larry Weinberg; his wife, Barbi Weinberg; AIPAC’s vice president; and AIPAC deputy director of research Martin Indyk founded the Washington Institute for Near East Policy in 1985. Although WINEP plays down its links to Israel and claims that it provides a ‘balanced and realistic’ perspective on Middle East issues, this is not the case. In fact, WINEP is funded and run by individuals who are deeply committed to advancing Israel’s agenda. Its board of advisors includes prominent pro-Israel figures such as Edward Luttwak, Martin Peretz, Richard Perle, James Woolsey and Mortimer Zuckerman, but includes no one who might be thought of as favoring the perspective of any other country or group in the ‘Near East.’ Many of its personnel are genuine scholars or experienced former officials, but they are hardly neutral observers on most Middle East issues and there is little diversity of views within WINEP’s ranks.” (pp. 175-176)

In recent years, Ross also has served on the board of the Jerusalem-based Jewish People Policy Planning Institute, a think tank that promotes “the thriving of the Jewish people via professional strategic thinking and planning on issues of primary concern to world Jewry.”

Ross has taken a very hostile position toward Iran . He produce the 2008 Bi Partisan Policy centre report “Meeting the Challenge: U.S. Policy Toward Iranian Nuclear Development,” ( 117 p pdf) The report argues that despite Iran’s assurances to the contrary, its nuclear program aims to develop nuclear weapons and is thus a threat to the U.S. This conclusion is contrary to the CIA’s November 2007 National Intelligence Estimate, which found that Iran had put its efforts to develop nuclear warheads on hold. Moreover, the report contends that if Iran had nuclear weapons it could not be deterred, like all other countries that have had nuclear weapons, because of its “extremist ideology.”

" ... the Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC), a new institution in Washington devoted to crafting prudent policy solutions to complex problems and, then, working to implement them. In the years we have spent in government, we learned that matters of such grave national importance must be met with thorough analysis, sober deliberation, and bipartisan cooperation." ...er. in the introduction says .." Michael Rubin (of the of the American Enterprise Institute ) who was the primary drafter of the report. The AEI website today carries a message from Michael .."the road to peace does not lie in a cease fire. As Michael Rubin writes, it lies in a "recognition of Israel's right to exist and to live without the relentless Hamas assaults."

In his biography the AEI are happy to explain that Michael .."In addition to his work at AEI, several times each month, Rubin travels to military bases across the United States and Europe to instruct senior U.S. Army and Marine officers deploying to Iraq and Kuwait on issues relating to regional state history and politics, Shiism, the theological basis of extremism, and strategy. "

The report actually calls for the new US president to expand American military forces in the Middle East! This would entail “pre-positioning additional U.S. and allied forces, deploying additional aircraft carrier battle groups and minesweepers, emplacing other war material in the region, including additional missile defense batteries, upgrading both regional facilities and allied militaries, and expanding strategic partnerships with countries such as Azerbaijan and Georgia in order to maintain operational pressure from all directions.” The neo-cons wildest dream the US fighting wars for the Jews.

The report goes on to state that if the new administration would hold talks with Iran it should set compliance deadlines which if not met would lead to an American attack on Iran. The military strikes would “have to target not only Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, but also its conventional military infrastructure in order to suppress an Iranian response.”

Washington Commentator Jim Lobe accurately refers to this document as a “roadmap to war,” pointing out that “if Tehran is not eventually prepared to permanently abandon its enrichment of uranium on its own soil—a position that is certain to be rejected by Iran ab initio—war becomes inevitable, and all intermediate steps, even including direct talks if the new president chooses to pursue them, will amount to going through the motions (presumably to gather international support for when push comes to shove.)”

In appointing people like Ross to key roles, is Obama, the presumed proponent of peace, actually preparing for a policy of war in the Middle East?

As Raimondo writes: “With Hillary and Ross at the helm of State, expect prolonged negotiations in the form of a series of ultimatums directed at Tehran, punctuated, perhaps, by a series of incidents, close calls that don't quite spark a war but keep the embers burning. All this drama leading inexorably to a preordained denouement – the third gulf war.”

Obama’s image as a proponent of peace makes it easier for him to launch war. His move to war could much more easily be perceived by the public as the only option remaining, in contrast to skepticism that Bush/Cheney would face as known warmongers. Many more liberals and Democrats would support a war launched by Obama than a war launched by a Republican. And conservatives and Republicans would tend to give Obama about as much support for war as they would give to Bush/Cheney or McCain; in fact, many probably would criticize him as moving too slowly toward war.

Some of the more naive Obama peace supporters maintain that Obama’s appointment of Middle East hawks represents a cunning plan to achieve peace. Raimondo addresses this argument: “We keep hearing Obama is making all these business-as-usual appointments in order to disarm his critics in advance when he starts taking those really bold initiatives, but doesn't there come a point when that somewhat dubious strategy becomes suspiciously repetitive? Is he really appointing Dennis Ross just so he can usher in a new era of equal justice and sustained peace in the region? Come off it, you Obama-ites – there won't be any change in our foreign policy, except for the worse.”

Anti-war commentator Glenn Greenwald, writes “Some argue that Obama has filled key positions with politicians who have a history of virtually absolute support for Israeli actions . . . because Obama intends to continue, more or less, the Bush policy of blind support for Israel. Others argue the opposite: that those appointments are necessary to vest the Obama administration with the credibility to take a more active role in pushing the Israelis to a negotiated settlement with the Palestinians.” Ho.Ho.Ho.

Greenwald doesn’t seem to see the need to provide much evidence here. Obviously, no one can definitely “know” what will happen in the future. However, by looking at past events one gets a better understanding of what will probably happen in the future—probability not certainty. This is simply how people plan for the future.

Obama can only be judged on his rather poor track record. From past experience it would seem that an administration’s policy is largely shaped by high-placed policy advisors . By selecting pro-Israeli hawks such as Ross, Obama has guaranteed that the Iranians will be suspicious.

The US has been anything but an honest broker in the Middle East, and calming Iranian and Palestinian suspicions (an impossible task) is an important step and a higher priority than simply going along with the Israeli War criminal.

Giving Ross the top role will confirm Iranian suspicions that the US have no intention to deal with them fairly, thus precluding the chance for diplomatic agreement, and precipitating more forceful action, even war, against Iran because of its failure to co-operate, as Dennis Ross’ recent study advocates.

THis may not be Obam's intention he may feel he has to thank the Israeli Lobby for making his Presidency possible. He may be so stupid he thinks he can dismiss, sidetrack, out - manourvre the ranks of neo-con hawks that will litter his offices from day One.

Maybe he sees himself as a genius who can devote himself to multiple serious issues—especially the economy—and still outfox representatives of the Israel Lobby on Middle East policy (who are experts on the subject, with multiple significant ties to Israel, and are devoting all their time to the issue) and establish a policy contrary to theirs and force them to carry it out properly.

It is hard to think of an American leader who did something comparable this or how it could be done. Most American presidents are highly influenced by their advisors—Washington/Hamilton, Wilson/Lansing and House, Nixon and Ford/Kissinger, Elder Bush/Baker, Younger Bush/Cheney and the neocons.

When American presidents don’t adhere to the views of a particular advisor/advisors and it is because they have significant advisors with contrary views. These counterweights in Middle East policy have yet to been seen in Obama’s emerging administration. .not forgetting the sl;avish support of israeli policy also provided by the Quartet Envoy our wonderful Tony Blair.

A partial exception was Bill Clinton, who in his second term surrounded himself with some pro-Israel hawks - Madeleine Albright. Albright and other hawks, plus the hawkish media, did get Clinton involved in the war on Serbia over Kosovo, but Clinton would only go part way ( bombing civilians from 20,000 feet was OK ) and did not commit ground troops. His mentor was fellow Arkansan Sen. J. William Fulbright*** who had strong views on the Israeli lobby.

He only agreed to fire some missiles at Saddam, though maintaining the blockade and the no-fly zones. So in a way, Bill Clinton, the consummate conman, was able to avoid the war policies of some of his leading advisors. It must be remebered however when it was decided to loose Tomahawks on Sudan and Afghanistan this wasan exceptional foil to the rank disclosure of his shenanigans with Miss Lewinskey.

Moreover, Clinton did not have to confront the serious government decisions facing Obama, who must deal with the economic meltdown, which could make or break his administration. So even to achieve results of the Clintonian level, Obama would have to be a far more able manipulator of people than Bill Clinton.

*J. William Fulbright who helped found the UN was a major opponent of the US war policy in Southeast Asia and overall American military intervention, he was also a string critic of the Israel Lobby, saying "Israel controls the United States Senate. Around 80 percent are completely in support of Israel; anything Israel wants it gets. Jewish influence in the House of Representatives is even greater.” in CBS Face the Nation on April 15, 1973. In 1974 Fulbright suffered defeat in the Democratic primary election, due in large part to the Israel Lobby. Fulbright had been head of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee since 1959 and was the longest serving.

On October 21, 2002, in a speech at the dedication of the Fulbright Sculpture at the University of Arkansas, Bill Clinton who he described as "Employer, mentor, eventually supporter and friend ",said, "I admired him. I liked him. On the occasions when we disagreed, I loved arguing with him. I never loved getting in an argument with anybody as much in my entire life as I loved fighting with Bill Fulbright".

Billy Boy also said at that ceremoney - and many may ponder the answer ..

"The United States stands at a unique moment in human history.

There have only been rare periods when you could say of all the peoples of the world, one nation is truly dominant, politically, economically and militarily. That is clearly true of the United States at this moment.

It is also clearly a fleeting moment.

Within thirty years the Chinese economy should be as big or bigger than ours.

The Indian economy could be as well if they will stop fighting with Pakistan and wasting money on armaments.

Within thirty years, if the European Union continues to unite and become more a union, politically and economically, it may well be more influential politically as well as economically.

And the United States will be judged based on how we used this “magic moment.” Did we try to drive the world into the 21st century? Did we make up our mind to resolutely exterminate every threat we saw and force people to live by our vision?

Or, did we instead try to build the world where, when we’re no longer, as we say down here, the “biggest dog on the block,” people will still treat us the way we like to be treated because of the way we treated them, at our moment of ascendancy.

The Gaza Strip Conflict Resolution by BooMan Fri Jan 9th, 2009

On the scale of offensive one-sidedness in the Israel-Palestine conflict, the ironically named Gaza Strip Conflict Resolution is probably about a 'five'. The actual text of the resolution has a couple of disputable facts, but its real fault lies in its arbitrary selection of facts. Yet, critiquing the factual basis for the resolution is outside the scope of this essay. It was carefully crafted to assure maximum support. It just received maximum support in the House, where it passed by a vote of 390-5 with 22 Democrats voting 'present' and 16 representatives not voting.

The five representatives that voted against the resolution are Dennis Kucinich (D-OH), Gwen Moore (D-WI), Ron Paul (R-TX), Nick Rahall (D-WV), and Maxine Waters (D-CA). I believe 21 of the 22 Democratic members that voted 'present' are members of the Democratic Progressive Caucus. Co Chair - Dennis Kucinich

The important thing is that 390 members of the House voted for a resolution that states (in part):

(5) calls on all nations--

(A) to condemn Hamas for deliberately embedding its fighters, leaders, and weapons in private homes, schools, mosques, hospitals, and otherwise using Palestinian civilians as human shields, while simultaneously targeting Israeli civilians; and

(B) to lay blame both for the breaking of the `calm' and for subsequent civilian casualties in Gaza precisely where blame belongs, that is, on Hamas;

That view of this conflict is a decidedly minority view in the world at-large. There is little global love for the Hamas government in the Gaza Strip, and most people condemn the use of rocket attacks on indisputably sovereign Israeli territory. But the idea that the blame for over 700 civilian casualties in Gaza since Christmas lies squarely on Hamas' shoulders is not popular (to be charitable). Leaving the impression that all the civilian casualties are the result of Hamas hiding in mosques, schools, private homes, and hospitals is an egregious and offensive distortion of the facts. It's true that Hamas leaders have not lined up in open fields and offered themselves up for slaughter. It's also true that Israel has bombed a UN school and shelter and leveled multi-story apartment buildings. The responsibility for that lies squarely with the Israelis. No one forced them to kill civilians indiscriminately.

The problem with the Gaza Strip Conflict Resolution is that it is a non-binding resolution that has no force of law and serves no other purpose than to demonstrate overwhelming American support for Israel's actions in Gaza, which have resulted in the deaths of over 700 innocent civilians. Yet, Americans do not support this senseless slaughter in anything near overwhelming numbers.

Americans, while far more sympathetic to Israel than the Palestinians, are closely divided over whether the Jewish state should be taking military action against militants in the Gaza Strip. Forty-four percent (44%) say Israel should have taken military action against the Palestinians, but 41% say it should have tried to find a diplomatic solution to the problems there...

[Source: Rasmussen Reports, Dec. 31, 2008]

If 41% of Americans didn't support the onset of military action, surely fewer than that support the disproportionate murder of over 700 people. Yet, 89.6% of our representatives just voted to express our government's support for this crime. Less than one percent of the House voted 'no'.

How did we get to this point where there is such a massive distortion and disconnect between what the public thinks and how their representatives vote? That's a matter for speculation. What's more important and should be less controversial, is what it looks like to the outside world. While the UN Security Council calls for a cease-fire (with America abstaining) and the Red Cross criticizes Israel for inhumanity, the House of Representatives votes 90%-1% in favor of what Israel is doing.

How could such a spectacle possibly fail to outrage the world and motivate people to want to do us harm?

Here is the really critical point. What did Israel get out of this resolution? That's an honest question. Did they get anything really valuable? And what did America get out of it besides an increased risk of retaliation and more strain on our relations with our Arab allies in the region?

Tell me the answer. Because I think the Israeli Lobby just bullied Congress into trading fealty to Tel Aviv at the expense of the security of all American citizens at home and abroad. That's a hell of a shitty trade-off. But at least Israel now knows who their 'enemies' are.

UN votes for peace (except the US) and AIPAC makes sure the Senate votes for Israel and Zionism - all in one day.

In interviews, the Boy David has been showing increasing signs of stress. Dark patches in his pallid midnight face surround his eyes so they resemble pissholes in snow. He is evidently feeling the brute pressure of UN real politik as run by Condileezza Rice and the US State Office ,pimping for their client state Israel.

Last week he nervously said he felt the UK could "help with words" and no doubt the Oxbridge educated, double first , Rolls Royce minds of the FCO have been assiduously helping drafting a Security Council resolution which the UK presented to the Council ( the text of which is not yet available at the UN website).

A Press release for the 15 man Security Council says inter alia

The United Nations Security Council tonight overwhelmingly called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza leading to a full Israeli withdrawal, the unimpeded provision throughout Gaza of food, fuel and medical treatment, and intensified international arrangements to prevent arms and ammunition smuggling.
More here ..."renewed efforts to achieve a comprehensive peace "...." Hamas, which seized control of Gaza in 2007, does not recognize Israel’s right to exist. The resolution “encourages tangible steps towards intra-Palestinian reconciliation.”

However the resolution passed 14 with 1 abstention - our great ally and coalition partner the US abstained (although they could have sunk it by vetoing it).

Condileezza Rice explained that , "the US wanted to see the outcome of the Egyptian initiative first, but allowed the resolution to go forward because it was a step in the right direction. " (The Egyptian initiative is some low grade dips and clerks, jawing away in Cairo sunshine, absent Hamas - who do have some say in all this)

Current General Assembly President Miguel D’Escoto was reported at a UN HQ press meeting saying “I can’t stand the smell of formaldehyde. Rigor mortis seems to have taken over, and we are failing the world, we are failing the cause of peace,” and spoke of the “the dysfunctionality” of the Council.

The Silence of the lambs

Meanwhile where the real power lies, AIPAC issued a Press release gleefully announcing that The U.S. Senate demonstrated its unwavering support for Israel's quest for peace and her right to self-defense and bombing of Gaza with Thursday's passage, by unanimous consent, of S. Res. 10.

AIPAC is thrilled to bits with the bi-partisan support for their ethnic cleansing program cosponsored by Senate Majority Leaders Harry Reid (D-NV) and Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) which received a voice vote with no one objecting or abstaining.

AIPAC also applauds the Senate for conveying America's unequivocal and steadfast support for Israel's right to self-defense against relentless assaults by the Iranian-backed terrorist group Hamas, and praises President Bush, the bipartisan leadership of the House and Senate, President-elect Obama and the countless American leaders who have defended Israel's right to a terror-free existence. (texts of the Senate and House resolutions here)

David Milliband , (pic - struggling with the world saved by Flash Gordon) now a father of two adopted children is, a decent guy. Trapped by the brutal Zionist power brokers and the cowardly political representatives they plainly control b y the purse strings he has had a lesson in how power is wielded by the world's strongest players.

We think you should pray for him.

Fighting (ie shooting fish in abarrel) has recommenced, this will continue until next Friday - then there will be a decent interval whilst the US celebrate Martin Luther King asd Inaugurate the First US Jewish President.

Then about time for Lord Patel's birthday on January 25th they will be busy starving, burning, maiming, killing, shelling, the Gazan huddled teeming masses.

UPDATE : 1500 GMT here is the story of the Senate vote from Reuters on line now go look for it in any MSM media either side of the Atlantic. It ain't there.

UPDATE 1700 GMT US Senate Endorses Israel's War on Gaza by Jeremy R. Hammond the editor Foreign Policy Journal

First rate article about the decision and the debate (?)...

Rep. Jane Harman (D-CA) voiced her support for the resolution by saying that Israel’s war on Gaza was “a phase in a war against Iranian terror”.

Rep. Shelley Berkley (D-NV) expressed having “every confidence that the incoming administration would continue the unwavering support of the United States of America for the state of Israel.

Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA) characterized Israel’s war as “self-defense” and said it was well within its rights to engage in such action.

Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) was a lone voice in the Congress expressing any kind of empathy for the plight of the Palestinians. In remarks from the floor of the House, he said:

“Wake up America. We have trillions for a war machine and the banks while our government stands by and sniffs at the slaughter of innocents in Gaza, where Israel is blocking aid for wounded Palestinians.

Here’s today’s Washington Post.

It says, ‘The International Committee of the Red Cross said Thursday that it found at least 15 bodies and several children emaciated but alive in a row of shattered houses in the Gaza Strip and accused the Israeli military of preventing ambulances from reaching the site for 4 days. 12 corpses lying on mattresses in one home, along with 4 young children lying next to their dead mothers.’

That’s a quote.

Today, US tax dollars, US jets, and US helicopters provided to Israel are enabling the slaughter in Gaza.

The administration enables Israel to press forward with the attack against defenseless civilians, blocks efforts at promoting a cease-fire at the UN, and refuses to make Israel compliant with conditions that arms shipments will not be used for aggression.

Israel is going to receive $30 billion in a ten year period for military assistance, without having to abide by any humanitarian principles, international laws, or standards of basic human decency. Wake up America.”

Our hitherto silent Mid East envoy who enjoys such a close working relationship with gorgeous, pouting, leggy and lovely brunette Ruth Turner , was on the BBC4 "Today" programme this morning. It was Ruth , who now runs his office at Yale University (real handy for her dad's office as well) who acted as the Number 10 go between for Lord Levy, when he was trawling for funds for the 2005 election offering coronets for cash amongst his rich North London pals such as Sir David Garrard, Barry Townsley, and Andrew Rosenfeld.

Anyway Tony surprised us all by representing the West Bank as a booming economy under the wise hands of the Quisling Abbas and explained that Bethlehem was now awash with visitors.

Evidently there has recently been a concerted PR campaign to boost the upturn in visitors to Bethlehem - but it is a picture that is somwhat distorted.

Ynet reported on Christmas Day (when elsewhere the murderous genocidal Government set "Cast lead" in motion in Gaza ) that, "Thousands of Christian pilgrims gathered in Bethlehem's Manger Square on Wednesday to celebrate Christmas under the protection of security forces loyal to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

It appears that 500 extra security men arrived from Ramallah and Jericho to provide security for the religious festival. Similar deployments have taken place across the West Bank over the past year with US backing.

The picture painted of happy Christians jostling the crowded streets was somehow tarnished by the news that , "About 900 from Gaza applied for Israeli permission to go to the site where Christians believe Jesus was born, but only 300 got it." .. of course, whether they got back to Gaza we don't know.

It is also possible that the concrete 8 metre high (26 feet) apartheid wall with watchtowers which visitors can enjoy viewing between Jerusalem and Bethlehem as an ugly scar defiling holy Christian sites lends a sombre backdrop to this joyous and bustling crowd.

However Tourism ROI is a trifle more upbeat listing the intense efforts made by Governments - rather reminscent of the Liverpool Garden festival extravaganza organised by Michael Heseltine after the Toxteth Riots ....

Visitors to Manger Square arrive through streets repaved by Germany, past stairways rebuilt by Norway and walk through a marketplace constructed by Japan. The square itself, rebuilt by Japan and the USA, is now a gracious stone-paved plaza, no longer a parking lot for tour buses. A Swedish-funded Peace Center is under construction nearby....

Curiously all of this extravagant international funding on "cultural heritage preservation and promotion, and tourism development" appears to have by - passed Gaza.

Ecumencial News International must have reacted to the same briefings from the Government and reported on 22nd December that that Bethlehem, had celebrated its one millionth visitor of the year in November and expected at least 100 000 more visitors by the end of 2008 - and the Pope to visit in May 2009.

Chairman of Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce did explain to journalists that the 100 tour buses that arrive daily allow their visitors only a 2 hour visit - due to delays and problems as buses have to negotiate an Israeli-manned checkpoint, or to walk through a labyrinth-like checkpoint.

With 23% unemployment Bethlehem faces a brain drain, as many of the educated population emigrate because of the lack of job opportunities.

There are great hopes however of an agreement for a French light industrial zone and a training centre which has been attracted by insurance from the IFC [International Finance Corporation] of the World Bank on their investment.

However all is not going too smoothly for this project as the land for the industrial zone has not yet been identified due to difficulties created by the “Israeli occupation”. Apparently President Sarkozy was due to arrive on June 22nd to lay the cornerstone but as district head Al-Ta'mari ahs pointed out Zone A is unavailable "due to the siege that has reached the borders of the city and of which nothing remains ". As for Zone B the Israelis are preventing any Palestinian effort on it, and the Israelis forbid construction in the C areas totally under Israeli control.

The American Jewish Committee’s Paris representative, Valerie Hoffenberg, visited Bethlehem on June 12, 2008 acting as President Sarkozy's "envoy" in advance of his visit try to sort this out, without success. (See Footnote)

See the other orchestrated reports in the Kuwaiti Arab Times the China Post and of course the good old BBC,"Tourist revival boosts Bethlehem "

FOOTNOTE : ...or what Tony missed out about the wonders of economic boom in the West Bank.

The American Jewish Committee "A century of Leadership", operates Project Interchange where they ,"provid(e) educational seminars in Israel for America’s political, civic, ethnic and religious leaders" On December 19th 2008 , happily coinciding with the PR brouha outlined above Valerie Hoffenberg, director of AJC France led a delegation of French Muslim civic leaders including a police commissioner, the president of the French Young Entrepreneurs group, and the general director of a French television and radio station.

David A.Harris, Executive Director, American Jewish Committee (AJC) was lucky enough for the Jerusalem Post to publish his modestly one sided article "Why Israel had no choice ", on December 3oth.

The group met privately with Israeli President Shimon Peres. The trip included visits to Jewish, Muslim and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, and the obligatory visit to Yad Vashem. The delegation also visited Ramallah and Bethlehem, and met with Palestinian Authority officials, including President Mahmoud Abbas - Gaza with it's teeming crowds of Muslims was somehow missed off this tour itinerary.

Jean-David Levitte , President Nicolas Sarkozy's Jewish diplomatic adviser on Middle East and North African affairs , who was French Ambassador to Washington until 2007 also joined the party. Levitte is also the new head of Sarkozy's new US style National Security Council (text June 2008) and there are fears (Figaro) that he might eclipse fellow Jew Bernard Kouchner the current Minister for Foreign Affairs .

Fat chance.

Kouchner and Levitte broke ranks with the French government in 2003, refusing to oppose the invasion of Iraq. Kouchner published an article in Le Monde arguing the positives in toppling Saddam Hussein. Kouchner was described by neo con Richard "bomb 'em from 20,000 feet" Holbrooke as ‘an effective early advocate of “humanitarian intervention”’.

Sylvain Semhoun, the representative of Sarkozy’s Union for Popular Movement (UMP), told the Jerusalem Post, “Israel got lucky [with Kouchner]. Israelis should thank God it’s him and not Vedrine“

It cannot be forgottten either that Likud chairman, and likely next Israeli prime Minister, Binyamin 'Bibi' Netanyahu has said that with the coming to power of his friend Sarkozy, he expects French Middle East policy “will no longer be characterized by reflective anti-Israelism.”

TW9zc2Fk the de-bunker of the Market Place carnage - and a curious connection with Mossad

UPDATE : Monday 1015 GMT

If anyone has any doubts about the fact that TW9zc2Fk is a team of IDF / Mossad / cyeberwarriors playing an elaborate (and they hope) damaging psyops ploy - go and read the messages left on reddit by this Tyro blogiste (registered 1 day) here http://www.reddit.com/user/TW9zc2Fk/.

Such an elaborate, relentless focussed response requires a team of people dedicated to working this cynical ploy.

OK . We got sucked into their cunning scheme - the whole episode displays lengths and depth of vile manipulation the Zionist, apartheid state goes to, in support their rapine and slaughter within Gaza.

May their consciences rest easy with the photographs now surfacing of the bloody mess they are leaving the rest of the world to mop up.

The debunker of the "market carnage video" on Reddit who signs with the very distinctive username TW9zc2Fk has some odd connections - readers might find it fascinating to try this out, which popped up after a little Googling etc., by our vast technical team.

Stop Bombing Gaza vigil . Manchester, outside the BBC 29-12-09

T'was chilly but a large crowd gathered to chant and express their deep loathing of the actions of the Zionist murderers, their claque in the west and their state run mouthpiece behind us...
True to form Plod turned up - with a beautiful cheerful, helpful Ploddess Sergeant who is to be applauded for the pleasant manner and easy charm with which she handled the situation - especially in comparison with her glum, sullen and officious chums.

Of course things get better when three Tactical Aid Group vans turn up with a fill complement of handcuff wearing, truncheon bearing, bullet proof jacketed gum chewing, booted and suited bovver boys - it was nice to see that the inside of their vans had been tastefully decorated with tinsel and glitter - shows their more feminine side.

The vigil will be held until the bombing stops, every night 5 p.m. Keep up to date at the website www.manchesterstopwar.org

The press / politicians / statesmen's / commentators on the Blitzkreig on Gaza resembles a curious crowd watching a violent slo - mo rape in progress.

Oh dear that girl looks as though she is being raped !

The way she dresses it's no surprise ...why doesn't she stop struggling ? If she didn't struggle so much she wouldn't get hurt.

If she relaxed she might learn to enjoy it... probably she led him on anyway.

You usually find there is more to it than meets the eye , you know. probably she's upset him over something... wants her land back, and her orange groves, and homes and dead relatives, those centuries old olive trees been in the family ...

What's done is done, no use going over the same old ground.

If we just stand here and watch they'll probably sort it out amongst themselves... that's what usually happens.

Best not to get involved. Looks like he's part of a bigger gang - they could turn nasty.

It is hard to imagine an Israeli government testing Obama, whom it views with foreboding because of a sense he has more sympathy for the Palestinians, with a crisis of these dimensions during his first days or weeks in office
Seeing his Mid East advisor is Mr Denis Ross, co-founder of AIPAC, Bahm Emmanuel is not only the son of an Israeli terrorist but is also named after one and Alan Solow, soon to be chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations spoke to a Democratic forum In Cleveland , Ohio , in October 2008, about a trip he took to Israel with Obama in 2006.

Palestinian students told Obama they wanted to vote for Hamas and asked why the U.S. wouldn’t accept that democratically elected government, Solow said. Obama replied that the U.S. would not deal with terrorists and would not recognize a Hamas-controlled government in the West Bank.

Obama told students in South Africa that Israel absolutely has the right to defend itself and fight back if attacked. In telling stories about Obama, Solow maintained, “He has a Jewish soul. I like to say he’s going to be the first Jewish president of the United States.”

Obama "the first Jewish president" - has a deep understanding of issues that confront Israel and the Jewish community - Alan Solow

Alan Solow, is an attorney (Goldberg ,Cohn) from Chicago. He is a widely respected leader of the Jewish community. Nominating committee head James Tisch announced that he had been unanimously nominated to become the chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations which will end May 31st, 2010." This is claimed to be U.S. Jewry's most prominent voice in foreign and domestic policy issues and encompasses 50 national Jewish groups across the Jewish political and religious spectrum .

The nomination will be presented to the full Conference for a vote at a General Meeting in early January.

Solow, who once lived in Obama's neighborhood, (which is centred on the synagogue in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago) is one of Obama's veteran supporters, having backed his campaign for the Illinois State Senate a dozen years ago.

"I said with a smile that he will be the first Jewish president," Solow was quoted as saying after Obama won the Democratic presidential nomination in late August. "He also has a deep understanding of issues that confront Israel and the Jewish community."

Solow says that Obama has always had "excellent relations with the Jewish community." "As a local senator, he was very effective and helpful in what we call 'the Jewish agenda,' the community issues, values. He has always had a deep understanding of Israel's need for security.

I went with him to Israel for a week in January 2006, and when he started the race for the presidency I had no doubt I'd support him. The first thing that impressed me about him was his intellect - he's one of the smartest people I've met - but he's also a warm and caring person who has a keen interest in issues that people of this country are worried about,"
continues Solow. .....
"I said with a smile that he will be the first Jewish president. He also has a deep understanding of issues that confront Israel and the Jewish community. And I think his personal story reflects the story of Jewish immigration to the United States."
Alan Solow is also very familiar with Obama's first appointment - his designated White House chief of staff.
"Rahm is an active member of Jewish community, his children go to the day schools and he was always recognized as Jewish when he was Clinton's advisor. But I don't believe that the fact that he's a devoted Jew and supports Israel has anything to do with his appointment. He's simply the best person for this job, because of his experience in Congress and in Clinton's administration, and because of his intellect. But his support of Israel fits with the president-elect's thinking."

Michael Bauer, a political activist from the community has known Obama for over a decade and supported his presidential campaign ..

"As a U.S. senator he visited Israel twice, and especially the second time I think was highly significant .... I've known the president-elect for over 10 years, and his values and principles never change. If you ask me whether I have confidence that he'll continue to be committed to Israel's existence as a Jewish state within secure borders - I have absolutely no doubt."

Bauer was also heavily involved in Rahm Emanuel's campaign for Congress.
"The fact that Joe Biden, with a long record of supporting Israel, is Obama's vice president-elect and Rahm Emanuel is his chief of staff - I'm not sure what reassurance anyone needs that the president-elect when he is president will remain a close ally of the State of Israel and the people of Israel."
At a democratic forum In Cleveland , Ohio , in October 2008, 700 people heard Alan Solow and Denis Ross, Middle East advisor to Obama, and previously director for policy planning in the State Department under President George H. W. Bush and special Middle East coordinator under President Bill Clinton as well a co- founder of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) reassured Jewish voters that Obama would not only strengthen Israel’s security but also do a far better job of it than his rival Sen. John McCain.

Ross said he chose Obama as his candidate ,because U.S. standing in the world has never been lower than it is today.
"The U.S. cannot “be in a position where we do not shape world events ..... Where we don’t affect Iran’s behavior. Everything today takes place without us.”
Solow told the meeting of his trip to Israel with Obama in 2006.
"Obama is pro-Israel and shares Jewish values,"
Solow insisted,
“because he’s believed them for years, based on his personal vision of America. He understood what Torah meant - Love your neighbor as yourself.”
During that 2006 trip, Palestinian students told Obama they wanted to vote for Hamas and asked why the U.S. wouldn’t accept that democratically elected government, Solow said. Obama replied that the U.S. would not deal with terrorists and would not recognize a Hamas-controlled government in the West Bank, Solow recalled.

During the height of the intifada in 2003, when terrorists frequently blew up Israeli buses, Obama supported the building of the security barrier. Every parent, he said, has the right to put his child on the bus and expect him to come home in the evening safe and sound, Solow related.

While touring South Africa, the Jewish attorney noted, Obama told students that Israel absolutely has the right to defend itself and fight back if attacked.

In telling stories about Obama, Solow maintained, “He has a Jewish soul. I like to say he’s going to be the first Jewish president of the United States.”

Obama picked up 78 % of the Jewish vote in comparison to McCain's 21% haul, according to exit polls and the Jerusalem Post 5/11/2008 - Exit polls: 78% of Jews voted for Obama... there is also an all-time record of Jewish reps in Congress. ...see list of all 45 names

Gaza: Silence is not an option - Richard Falk UN Rappoteur on Palestinian territories

9th December 2008

The Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights on Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, Richard Falk, ( a 78 year old Jew who is barred from Israel after his remarks comparing its forces' actions in Gaza to those of the Nazis in wartime Europe) who was appointed by the UN Human Rights Council, issued the following statement entitled Silence is not an Option

GENEVA -- In recent days the desperate plight of the civilian population of Gaza has been acknowledged by such respected international figures as the Secretary General of the United Nations, the President of the General Assembly, and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.

Last week, Karen AbyZayd, who heads the UN relief effort in Gaza, offered first-hand confirmation of the desperate urgency and unacceptable conditions facing the civilian population of Gaza. Although many leaders have commented on the cruelty and unlawfulness of the Gaza blockade imposed by Israel, such a flurry of denunciations by normally cautious UN officials has not occurred on a global level since the heyday of South African apartheid.

And still Israel maintains its Gaza siege in its full fury, allowing only barely enough food and fuel to enter to stave off mass famine and disease. Such a policy of collective punishment, initiated by Israel to punish Gazans for political developments within the Gaza strip, constitutes a continuing flagrant and massive violation of international humanitarian law as laid down in Article 33 of the Fourth Geneva Convention.

It is long past the time when talk suffices. As AbuZayd has written, "the chasm between word and deed" with respect to upholding human rights in occupied Palestine creates a situation where "radicalism and extremism easily take root." The UN is obligated to respond under these conditions. Some governments of the world are complicit by continuing their support politically and economically for Israel's punitive approach.

Protective action must be taken immediately to offset the persisting and wide-ranging violations of the fundamental human right to life, and in view of the emergency situation that is producing a humanitarian catastrophe that is unfolding day by day. However difficult politically, it is time to act. At the very least, an urgent effort should be made at the United Nations to implement the agreed norm of a 'responsibility to protect' a civilian population being collectively punished by policies that amount to a Crime Against Humanity.

In a similar vein, it would seem mandatory for the International Criminal Court to investigate the situation, and determine whether the Israeli civilian leaders and military commanders responsible for the Gaza siege should be indicted and prosecuted for violations of international criminal law. As AbuZayd has declared, "This is a humanitarian crisis deliberately imposed by political actors."

It should be noted that the situation worsened in recent days due to the breakdown of a truce between Hamas and Israel that had been observed for several months by both sides. The truce was maintained by Hamas despite the failure of Israel to fulfill its obligation under the agreement to improve the living conditions of the people of Gaza.

The recent upsurge of violence occurred after an Israeli incursion that killed several alleged Palestinian militants within Gaza. It is a criminal violation of international law for elements of Hamas or anyone else to fire rockets at Israeli towns regardless of provocation, but such Palestinian behavior does not legalize Israel's imposition of a collective punishment of a life- and health-threatening character on the people of Gaza, and should not distract the UN or international society from discharging their fundamental moral and legal duty to render protection to the Palestinian people.

For further information on the Occupied Palestinian Territories, and work and mandate of the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights on Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, visit this website

"We do not claim that life in Gaza is easy, but so much of its misfortune is self-inflicted. "

viz;

But Gaza is morally far worse, although mass death has not yet resulted. It is far worse because the international community is watching the ugly spectacle unfold while some of its most influential members actively encourage and assist Israel in its approach to Gaza. Not only the United States, but also the European Union, are complicit, as are such neighbors as Egypt and Jordan apparently motivated by their worries that Hamas is somehow connected with their own problems associated with the rising strength of the Muslim Brotherhood within their own borders. It is helpful to recall that the liberal democracies of Europe paid homage to Hitler at the 1936 Olympic Games, and then turned away tens of thousands of Jewish refugees fleeing Nazi Germany. I am not suggesting that the comparison should be viewed as literal, but to insist that a pattern of criminality associated with Israeli policies in Gaza has actually been supported by the leading democracies of the 21st century.

2 Israeli defence firms say they left Georgia before fighting - who is Davit Kezerashvili ?

More information has become available since we posted Monday, August 11, 2008 Israel's part in arming Georgia, and the risky game of Russian Roulette they have been playing

Ex-envoy: Georgia modelled its army after IDF ynet

"Georgian government officials used to tell me that they wanted to model their army after the IDF," former Israeli ambassador to Georgia Shabtai Zur told Ynet Sunday evening amid the country's bloody feud with Russia over the separatist region of South Ossetia.

Travel Advisory Issued for Georgia, Jews Being Evacuated
Yeshiva world News 10th August 2008

Assisting in closing defense packages with Israel is Georgia’s Defense Minister, Davit Kezerashvili, (დავით კეზერაშვილი)a fluent Hebrew-speaker and former Israeli. ( and a close personal ally of the party's leader, Georgian President Saakashvili) See this extreme but well informed blog - Georgian Defense Minister, Davit Kezerashvili, is a Zionist Jew

Also - "His door was always open to the Israelis who came and offered his country arms systems made in Israel," the source said. "Compared to countries in Eastern Europe, the deals in this country were conducted fast, mainly due to the defense minister's personal involvement."

Deals were made for items including anti-aircraft and communications systems, as well as turrets for armored vehicles and communications systems. One of the people who profited from such arrangements is Roni Milo, a former Public Security Minister who represented Elbit.

Gal Hirsch, a former IDF brigadier-general, one of the senior officers compelled to step down following the Second Lebanon War, also provided tactical training, working with Georgian military officials to establish commando units mimicking Israel’s Sayeret Matkal.

He is a partner in a firm called Defensive Shield.

There is also 61-year-old former IDF Major-General Yisrael Ziv, who heads a security consulting firm.

2 Israeli firms say they left Georgia before fighting Haaretz Tuesday 12th August 2008

Two Israeli security companies, Defensive Shield and Global CST, announced yesterday that they had completed their projects in Georgia before fighting between that country and Russia broke out on Friday. The two are among several Israeli companies advising Georgia on security
matters, training its army and occasionally supplying it with weapons.

Defensive Shield, owned by Brig. Gen. (res.) Gal Hirsch, said all its employees, including its subcontractors, are no longer in Georgia. It said it completed the work it had been contracted to do, and that all its contracts with Georgia had been approved by Israel's Defense Ministry. Security systems services company Global CST, managed by Maj. Gen. (res.) Israel Ziv, said it finished its work in Georgia at the end of July.

A retired senior Israeli officer who recently trained troops in Georgia said yesterday he was surprised that the Georgians faced off against Russia, since they have a much smaller army. "They got into an adventure that I wouldn't have chosen to get into, based on the level of professionalism I saw in my visits to the Georgian army," the officer said. "Who knows where this will end." "This is an army that was in the process of disintegrating over 15 or 16 years," the officer added. "This process required reconstruction, and that's where the Israelis entered the picture, along with companies from other countries.

verything was very, very basic. We dealt mainly with basic training for the units. It will take a long time until the military forces there will advance to a high professional level.

The Georgian army cannot under any circumstances be a serious rival to the Russians at present." The officer also stressed the difference in military might: "Georgia is a small country, with barely 4.5 million people," he said. "They have a small army - to be honest, not much different from that of a Third World country.

" The Georgians began reorganizing their army in 2002, with American assistance. Since the collapse of the Soviet Union in the early 1990s, the Georgian army has primarily been comprised of remnants of Red Army units.

Difficult to tell who is more desperate, Rudy or Jon

Jon Voight, raised as a Roman Catholic, who played the role of Pope John Paul II in a recent CBS mini-series, father of Angelina Jolie, and whose brother wrote "Wild Thing" which propelled the Troggs (?) into stardom, is supporting a guy called Guiliani in Florida for the Republican nomination ...and sent this letter to Florida voters ...

"Israel is in worse danger than ever. Israel's enemies are many, and speak arrogantly and blatantly about how they want to destroy all Jews and Israel. Let us not forget the Holocaust. We will need a strong president, one who will be
committed to the safety and survival of Israel; one who can stand up to the terrorists and extremists.

Rudy Giuliani will not be bullied. Every Jew should be voting for Giuliani. He understands the importance of Israel to America, as well as it's importance to the rest of the world. Rudy Giuliani grew up in New York City, which has the largest Jewish population outside of Israel. There is no other candidate running who has closer ties and understands, respects, and loves the Jewish people as does Rudy Giuliani. He is a man of his word, and his promise to protect Israel is sacred".

Still hustlin' like Joe Buck in Midnight Cowboy .

UPDATE : BBC4 "Today" (30th) had a brief interview with Voight today who expressed his disappointment at Rudy's withdrawal.

David Miliband in ecstasy over secret UN resolution on Israel Iran

David Miliband (Toni Fabuloso still cannot believe he is the Foreign Secretary) excitedly calls us to tell us about the new UN Security Council Resolution on Iran ...

"I am very pleased that the foreign ministers of Britain, France, Germany, the United States, Russia and China meeting today in Berlin have agreed to the contents of a new UN Security Council Resolution on Iran's nuclear programme. The new resolution will build on resolutions 1696, 1737 and 1747

"Today's meeting was united, constructive and determined. We urge Iran to respond positively to the repeated requests from the international community to suspend its enrichment related and reprocessing activities and to take advantage of the far-reaching offer of economic and scientific as well as political cooperation that would result from suspension of these activities. A positive choice by Iran holds the prospect of real progress for its citizens. Confrontation with the international community will only further isolate Iran and hurt Iran's citizens.

"The agreement today is a signal of shared determination to work against the dangers of nuclear profileration and for an inclusive international system based on clear rules and responsibilities."

Press Office, Downing Street (West), London SW1A 2AL - also sent us a note from him.

Now read that again, this time substitute the word Israel for Iran..... Israel are of course unlike Iran have not signed the Nuclear Non - Proliferation Treaty and so do not receive inspections from Egyptian born busybody, Nobel Peace Prize winning Mohamed ElBaradei, and his inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency. Although in November 2007, Israeli Deputy Prime Minister Shaul Mofaz called for ElBaradei to be sacked, saying "The policies followed by ElBaradei endanger world peace. His irresponsible attitude of sticking his head in the sand over Iran's nuclear programme should lead to his impeachment."

Of course in all his evident joy at the news - the boy David failed to mention that the assembled dignitaries decided not to announce any of the details of the sanctions.."which the international community will only further isolate Iran and hurt Iran's citizens ".

Coincidentally German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier (who had invited them all the Berlin to make this wholly symbolic and futile gesture historic announcement) said “We are agreed on the content of the next Security Council resolution,” took no questions.

Ms. Condileezza Rice did not speak after the meeting. She is reported to have said in a delphic utterance earlier in the day .. “I don’t think it’s any secret that we and the Russians and perhaps the Chinese don’t have precisely the same view of timing on these resolutions.”

Learn more about Mordechai Vanunu who exposed the Israeli nuclear weapons factory at Dimona here and his website here and also about Pennsylvania born Cheryl Bentov (AKA Cheryl Hanin) the Mossad spy, "Cindy" who lured Vanunu, (see pic) to be drugged, kidnapped and imprisoned for 20 years in solitary confinement .. she is a slightly podgy 46 year-old mother of two daughters, and a pillar of Orlando's Jewish community who lives in an exclusive gated commuity with her husband Ofer Ben Tov a former military intelligence major, in Orlando, Florida and sells real estate.

Link to Conservative Friends of Israel for speech

Billionaire Poju Zabludowicz, lives in London. He has donated £70,000 to the Conservative party over the past three years. He is also one of the financial supporters of the Conservative Friends of Israel, which has also given to the party.

Zabludowicz, 55, born in 1953 in Helsinki, Finland, heads the Tamares Group, which has its headquarters in Liechtenstein and has an international property portfolio, including hotels and casinos in Las Vegas. He is also a member of the European Advisory Board of Citigroup, the Board of Directors of GEMS (an Asia Pacific private equity fund) and the Advisory Board of Stratos Ventures - email him at poju@tamares.com

According to Electoral Commission records, Tamares provided £15,000 for Cameron’s leadership campaign in 2005 and has donated £55,000 to Conservative funds in 2006 and 2007.

Zabludowicz has also provided funds for the Conservative Friends of Israel, which in turn has donated nearly £30,000 to the Tory party.

Zabludowicz father, Shlomo, was an Auschwitz survivor, who moved to Finland and later built up the Israeli arms company Soltam. He later diversified into the manufacture of cooking utensils and into property investments.

After Shlomo’s death in 1994, his son took over the business and most of the defence interests were sold. Most of the family fortune is now in property, although Zabludowicz still owns a company in the United States that manufactures training ammunition. Zabludowicz is understood to be nondomiciled in the UK for tax purposes.

The group owns property in downtown Las Vegas that was leased to the Navegante group owned and run by Larry J Woolf an arrangement which appears to have gone belly up.

Interestingly Larry tells Lord Patel he is also a Non Exec of the computer gambling software company Cyberview Technology along with the Chairman
Sir Michael Wilkes KCB, CBE who served in the British Army for 35 years reaching the rank of a 4 star General - including Director of Special Forces. On leaving the Army in 1995, he was appointed Governor and Commander in Chief of the Island of Jersey where he served until 2000. Since that time he has become Deputy Chairman and Senior Independent Non-Executive Director of C. I. Traders Limited, a broadly based property and retail company which is the largest employer in the Channel Islands. He takes an interest in the finance industry and is Chairman of Chiltern Holdings (Jersey) Ltd. He maintains his interest in Middle Eastern affairs through his Chairmanship of Britam Defence Ltd. "..a special force in the oil and gas industry." To those who are interested in this sort of thing this website is the sort of website they will find..er..interesting.

His wife, Anita, an interior designer and former art student from Newcastle upon Tyne, (Picture Victoria Miro, Dr Luigi Maramotti, Anita Zabludowicz and Iwona Blazwick at the launch in Venice of MaxMara Women’s Art Prize - Winner Announcement February 2006 ) is an avid collector of contemporary art. The couple opened a gallery in north London last year to display their collection which is housed in a nineteenth century Methodist Chapel in Chalk Farm. A statue from her collection the Zabludowicz Collection, exhibited in Newcastle, (21. Sep - 20. "Newcastle born Anita Zabludowicz is one of the UK’s most exciting and innovative art collectors. BALTIC presents a selection of work from her extraordinary international collection"

Conservative Friends of Israel has given to a number of Conservative constituency associations, particularly in the run-up to the last election. The organisation, which has given £29,000 to the Tories between 2003-06, is not required to reveal its financial backers. It has targeted constituencies where sitting Labour MPs have been senior figures in Labour Friends of Israel.

Well, Well, Well.

What a fascinating world with fascinating connections.
