Northern Wreck try to gag the Press, Comment, and knowledge of their Memorandum of Sale.

On Tuesday we reported that FT Alphaville had posted the memorandum sent to potential purchasers of Northern Wreck.

As a result of this posting the High Court ruled at around at around 6.50pm on Tuesday 14th for Northern Rock Directors, that the FT are injuncted against revealing the contents of this memorandum. This temporary injunction runs until Tuesday when full evidence in the case will be heard.

Initially Northern Rock sought an injunction which would prevent the whole of the media from reporting anything about the sale memorandum.

Northern Rock wanted the injunction to prevent publication of the names of those who had been provided with the sale memorandum, notwithstanding the fact that names of potential bidders have already been widely published.

Northern Rock also sought an order that would have prevented disclosure of the fact that it had obtained an injunction. The FT resisted this and the order was refused.

Northern Rock intended that an injunction should be obtained anonymously, but this was also unsuccessful.

In view of the fact that the hearing went on so late, the judge granted a temporary injunction lasting seven days in order to preserve the position until he could hear full evidence. The FT argued that there was a substantial public interest in the story and that it was extremely important that shareholders were entitled to know where they stand. The Judge took the view that at an emergency hearing he would give priority to the fact that the sale memorandum contained a written confidentiality undertaking entered into by the original recipients of the document, and that he would protect this pending a full hearing of all the evidence.

Northern Wreck published the following on their website...

NORTHERN ROCK ANNOUNCEMENT

Northern Rock Plc (the “Company”) announces that it is aware that a confidential memorandum sent to parties with a potential interest in all or part of the Company under strict confidentiality obligations has unfortunately been leaked to a newspaper group. The memorandum appeared on a website controlled by that group. In order to protect the integrity of the information which has been provided to potential purchasers and to help ensure it can implement its strategic review in a way designed to achieve the best outcome for the Company and its stakeholders, including shareholders, creditors, customers and employees, the Company has obtained an injunction restricting publication of the information contained in the memorandum.

The Company believes that further speculative reporting based on the illustrative information in the memorandum may jeopardise the complex discussions and negotiations taking place in connection with its strategic review. It has been reported that the memorandum included certain illustrative transaction structures and financial information prepared in connection with the Company’s strategic review.

As was made clear by the memorandum the financial information was prepared solely to illustrate the potential financial impact of these transaction structures on the Company’s business.None of the information reported as being in the memorandum should be viewed as guidance to the market as to future outcomes of the strategic review or as an accurate representation of future results.

The memorandum was not prepared with a view to public disclosure or in compliance with rules, guidelines or policies relating to public disclosure.Announcements regarding the outcome of the strategic review will be made as and when appropriate and any information that is material will be published at that time. There can be no certainty that the discussions taking place with interested parties will lead to an offer for the Company or for all or any part of its business.

The Company confirms that the existing deposit guarantee arrangements announced by HM Treasury and the revised facilities agreed with the Bank of England announced on 9 October 2007 remain in place.

Lord Patel has copies of the memorandum and will shortly post them. The significant parts were dealt with in the post on Tuesday. However the whole thing is available we now discover as a pdf file at http://www.banks-implode.com/NR-Secret-Memo.pdf

Northern Rock - a Turd by any other name

FT Alphaville have posted the "confidential details " of the BOE memorandum about the sale of Northern Wreck (Codename "Blackbird" AKA Turdus merulus of the Family Turdidae - someone at the BOE with a keen sense of ornithological humour ?)) for prospective buyers.
http://ftalphaville.ft.com/blog/2007/11/13/8870/project-wing-the-northern-rock-briefing-memorandum/

The document is curious - it says the Wreck expects to have a credit line of £24bn from the taxpayer (AKA BOE) as at 1/1/08 - although by most people's reckoning it stands at £30Bn. today.

The loan rate and other terms, length, termination triggers etc., are not available but ..."any potential purchaser/investor... will need to have discussions with the Bank of England and its advisers before concluding any proposal."

The business is unsaleable without this loan and this is tacitly accepted - in 2010 the Rock will require at least £6bn from ..er..." a Replacement Facility"

3 outlines scenarios are given ... all demanding BOE support and evidence that they just want this mess off the doorstep of Threadneedle Street.

• sale of the whole company; (In two words Im Possible, you could not GIVE the company away)

• sale of the basic physical infrastructure of the business, viz. the branches, IT and call centre, - the loans from the remaining stupid, short siighted retail lenders who haven't even now moved their funds to higher and safer ground.

• sale of above plus those securitised mortgages, and a "run off" of the rest - in which case the Credit Rating agencies are left withj a problem to rate and this could leave to a "trigger" by which the holders can demand their money back. (The Credit Agencies are remaining remarkably silent re the value of "Granite" etc.,

Anyone who still holds shares is a mug.

Patels swell jail population after massive Tax fraud in Manchester

Seven people were jailed for over 11 years in Liverpool on Monday for their part in a £5.3 million tax fraud involving a North West newsagents/garage chain. Three directors along with six other senior managers and employees of Aleef Garages Limited (also trading as Aleef Newsagents) pleaded guilty to the multi-million pound fraud after a long and complex investigation by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) investigators.

In court, confiscation orders in excess of £5.3 million were made with one to follow.

The 8 men and 1 woman were charged with offences related to Conspiracy to cheat the Revenue contrary to section 1 (1) of the Criminal Law Act 1977 and prosecuted by the Revenue and Customs Prosecutions Office (RCPO). The charges centred on fraudulent accounting related to franchise outlets, suppression of stock purchases and under declaration of takings at the newsagents' shops to the diversion of funds and payments of tax free undeclared wages. Money was distributed using bank accounts opened in the name of a charity but in reality the cash was used to fund private lifestyles and transferred to other personal accounts including some in the Channel Islands. Aleef Garages Limited is a limited company owned by members of a family called Patel, who reside in the Great Lever area of Bolton. The principle trade of the company is/was retail outlets and the business operates a number of garages and newsagents in the North West.

Three sons of the company founder, Mubarak (aged 55), Mustaq (53) and Iqbal (51) as company directors all had an integral role in running the business. The three brothers who pleaded guilty to cheating the Revenue have now been banned as directors for ten years each and have been subjected to confiscation orders totalling £5million plus a contribution to court costs of £500,000.

The main assets for the principal defendants consist of a large property portfolio of garages and newsagent outlets based mainly in Manchester, but also in Bolton and Liverpool. Default sentences totalling a further 15 years have been imposed on the three directors that will be served if they fail to pay the orders within a set timetable laid down by the court. Five of their co-conspirators also had confiscation orders added to their sentences yesterday and the sixth faces a confiscation hearing in approximately one month.

The six other employees who were sentenced for their part in the fraud are Hanif Patel (46), Usman Patel (45), Ibrahim Vali Patel (55), Nichole Patel (34), Inayat Patel (34) (all unrelated) and Javeed Bashir (48). All reside in the same Bolton area.

Andrey Kashechkin cycle doping case threatens all sports drug testing if successful - he has Bosman's lawyer acting for him.

Belgian lawyer Luc Misson, who co-defended Jean-Marc Bosman when the former Belgian footballer successfully sued his club at the European Court of Justice in 1995 over "restraint of trade", is acting for Kazakh cyclist Andrey Kashechkin, a former member of the Astana team which also featured compatriot Alexandre Vinokourov, tested positive for homologous blood doping in August and now risks a four-year ban. (see post July 25th http://postmanpatel.blogspot.com/2007/07/dope-has-killed-cycling-what-next.htmlKashechkin denies he used his own blood to enhance his performance, and claims that legal procedures during his control were not followed correctly by International Cycling Union (UCI) officials.

Misson expects to win a case on the belief that "privately-run" sports bodies such as the UCI and the World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) have no legitimate right to test athletes.
The Belgian lawyer says such procedures contravene Europe's declaration of Human Rights, and that only public bodies, such as governments, have the right to carry out such procedures.

"We denounce the fact that these procedures (dope testing) and sanctions can be carried out by privately-run bodies," said Misson, who is using articles 6, 8 and 11 of the European Convention of Human Rights as a main tenet of his argument.

"To proceed to harm the fundamental rights of any individual is a right held exclusively by public bodies, and within the strict framework of the law."

Kashechkin was on holiday in Belek, Turkey with his family on August 1 when Belgian officials submitted him to a blood test late at night.

This tested positive for homologous blood doping, which means he injected his own blood to boost his performance - and if upheld means a four-year ban from the sport.

According to the Kashechkin camp the Belgian officials who collected blood samples from Kashechkin did so outside the permitted time limit of 0600 - 2200 . The officials reportedly took the samples at 2245 local time.

Misson also says that analysis of the rider's B sample, carried out 22 days later and which would validate any sanction, was not carried out within the UCI's own regulatory time limits.

Cycling's world ruling body, which is a legal entity in Switzerland where it is based, contests the competence of the court, and the fact that "a Belgian court is being asked to rule on the case of a Kazakh who lives in Monaco".

The UCI is being given full support from the respective bodies that represent the riders and the teams in cycling.

Professional cycling meanwhile is already fearing the ramifications of such a decision, and the IPCT's Belgian lawyer Jean-Louis Dupont fears the worst.

"If Kashechkin wins on the principle that only States (as opposed to private bodies) are legally allowed to carry out doping controls and hand down sanctions, then we might as well all walk away from professional sport," he said.

"The teams find it essential to be part of this procedure because it cannot accept the principle that the anti-doping fight would be the monopoly of public authorities. It would have immediate and disastrous consequences," IPCT lawyer Jean-Louis Dupont said.

Kashechkin finished third in this year's Dauphine Libere race (see pic above). He was fourth in the 13th stage of the Tour de France. The Astana team left the Tour after Alexandre Vinokourov, a race favorite, tested positive for a blood transfusion following his victory in a time trial.

A decision from the Belgian court is expected within two weeks.

President Sarkozy's Harem hits Washington

Mr. Sarkozy arrived in Washington last Tuesday with some of the women who reflect the diversity of his cabinet: Finance Minister Christine Lagarde, a former chairwoman of the Chicago-based law firm Baker & McKenzie; Justice Minister Rachida Dati, who has a Moroccan father and an Algerian mother; and Rama Yade, (Ramatoulaye Yade-Zimet ) his 31-year-old Senegalese-born and Muslim subminister of foreign affairs and human rights. Mr. Sarkozy refers to her as his "Condi Rice."

She is married to the socialist militant and diplomat, Joseph Zimet, who is the son of the famous Yiddish singer Ben Zimet - who has recently spent 2 years in Senegal. Ben Zimet is a Canadien citizen of Jewish-Polish stock, a long-time French resident and is resident in Dakar Senegal at present. Apparently Joseph voted for Segolene Royal in the Presidential elections.

President Sarkozy with President of Senegal Abdoulaye Wade, in July this year, Rama Yade's dad is a diplomat and her mother a Professor. Her dad was the personal secretary of the socialist president, poet, writer and “immortel” Léopold Sédar Senghor and her mother was a professor of the history of Islam.

UK Nuclear Flet 2 stations shut indefinitely.

Drax (DRX) are trading at £1.00 above when we mentioned them on October 24th when British Energy announced further problems with their nuclear power stations.

British Energy have announced subsequently ..."We are in the process of developing the methodology to secure the return to service of the units." All 4 reactors at Hartlepool and Hetsham have been shut down indefinitely.

What this means is, that they haven't a clue how to deal with the highly stressed multi core cables that act to control blast and as previously exlained at the time of the first announcement by BE took enormous effort to install.

So far all the company will says is .."“This is a complex issue and a timetable for the return to service of these units can only be formed when inspections and a full assessment of the situation have been completed,” and more information will be given when they announce their latest financial results next week.

Don't hold your breath and watch imported gas prices rise... and pray for a warm winter.

On Tuesday night, November 13th, (at 11 p.m. EST/PST - 10 p.m. CST), the History Channel will present Megadisasters: Oil Apocalypse, a documentary that Los Angeles-based filmmaker Martin Kent is calling "a wake up call," about the world's energy crisis. "We can no longer count on getting all the gasoline we need -- and there's no plan B."

Edward VIIth's illegitimate sone who broke Enigma and was "C" and Kim Philby's boss.

On May 6, 1910 King Edward VII died and a few weeks later there was a scheduled race meeting at Ascot. A correspondent in the Daily Telegraph remembers how his ex - mistresses Mrs Jenny Churchill nee Jerome (Winston's mother), Mrs Alice Keppel (who was present at his deathbed) and Lily Langtrey attended with their fabulous anf fashinable Black hats in their usual pace - apparently named by some wag as "the Loose Box". (pic Lord Londonderry , Countess of Derby and her daughter Victoria Stanley at Black Ascot)

This reminds Lord Patel of Lieutenant - Colonel (later Major General) Sir Stewart Menzies (Mingis as in the leader ex leader of the Liberal Democrats) who became the third fabled "C" of the Secret Intelligence Services in 1939 and in 1941 became the boss of Kim Philby - the "Third Man".It ws due to him that he was abale on a trip to Warsaw just prior to his becoming "C" an "Enigma" coding machine was obtained in Warsaw from Polish military sources and provided to Bletchley...as a result he was hugely responsible for controlling MKULTRA decoded signals from Bletchley throughout the war.(The Hut Six Story Breaking the Enigma Codes 1982by Gordon Welshman unequivocally states that the British Ultra "would never have gotten off the ground if we had not learned from the Poles, in the nick of time, the details both of the German military Enigma machine, and of the operating procedures that were in use."

He was, as Mrs Morell Smith frequently used to remind her dinner party companions the illegitmiate son of King Edward VIIth - a fact he used to enjoy - and his noble presence at Ascot in ceremonial dress uniform was always remarked upon. (pic right)

(There is also an absurd rumour that the "4th Man", Anthony Blunt, a fellow spy of Philby , was an illegitimate son of George V, half-brother and remarkably look-alike (see pic) to Edward VIII, the Duke of Windsor.)

Lord and Lady Docker - Where are they Now ? No 457

Celebrities, those famous for being famous were few and far between in the glum post war years and the Dockers added some some welcome glamour to a world without TV shows, pop stars and rock star status royalty.

Sir Bernard D0cker, Old Harrovian and Chairman of the Daimler Company (which was actually the Birmingham Small Arms Co., and did rather well out of the war- and also Director of Anglo-Argentine Tramways, Midland Bank and Thomas Cook and Sons ) married Norah Collins, a one-time dancer at the Café de Paris -- and throughout the 50's, the gracelessly gaudy pair entertained the nation with a succession of fancy cars, mink coats, champagne receptions and the magnificent Southampton built SHEMARA, an 860-ton yacht with a crew of 35. Launched in 1038 she was used in the war as a trainign vessel for anti submarine warfare.

It was conspicuous consumption on a massive scale. While people on the Clapham omnibus shook their heads in disbelief, they were somehow grateful for the chance to wonder at a glamour and unabashed extravagance they had long been denied. Lady Docker was the real showstopper; Sir Bernard was the complaisant supplier of her far from petty cash.

In 1954 a few eyebrows were raised when 45 Yorkshire miners were invited to Southampton for a cocktail party on Shemara. "We had a riotous day,'' said Lady Docker at the time.

Lady Docker's best-known asset were her glitzy cars : in 1951, Prattley, her chauffeur, drove an initialled gold Daimler with gold-plated fittings.

This was later upgraded to a metallic-blue version with lizard-skin upholstery; by 1953, her car was a Daimler Silver Flash with red crocodile-leather seats.

There were also two gold-plated Daimlers—one of them upholstered in six zebra skins and costing £42,000. Owned by Daimler, they were built to Lady Docker's specifications and for her use.

When £15,000-worth of her jewels were stolen, Billy Hill, the former 'King of the Underworld' vowed to get them back - "I admire Lady Docker," he said. "She's not afraid to mix with people like me." The empty briefcase that had contained the jewels and was stolen from the massive Stocksbridge hampshire home was recovered from the River Itchen. Billy HIll it seems didn't manage to recover them.

But the Dockers could not get away with it forever. After defending his extravagant life-style at a press conference at the Savoy Hotel, Sir Bernard lost his chairmanship of Daimler at the end of 1956.

They sacked Sir Bernard not only as chairman and managing director, but even as a director.

Next day the Dockers called in the press, poured out pink champagne and their hearts.

Sir Bernard's father had helped build the B.S.A. empire; Sir Bernard had been chairman since 1938; and his fortune was founded around the company. Said Sir Bernard, cigar in hand, tears in eyes: "I've been sacked, sacked, sacked. When father left the board, they gave him a gold watch. For me they called a special meeting, and the only subject they discussed was my departure. Damnable." Cried Lady Docker even more tearfully: "It's not the loss of the gold cars that makes me feel like this. And weren't they fun? They were like my children. No, it's that lovely party I was planning for 25,000 B.S.A. workers for my 50th birthday on June 23. A tiptop affair —and now it's all off. How could they do this to him after 17 years? Why, he's such a hard worker that he had a through line to the firm from our yacht.''

It was said Sir Bernard concealed important figures from the directors (Sir Bernard: "They could always look at the books").

By 1958 they were reduced to selling Lady Docker's jewellery and, finally, in 1968, the famous yacht.

In 1965 Shemara was put up for sale for £600,000, ( say £3Mn. today), 3 years later later, after a great deal of legal wrangling, the vessel finally passed to the ownership of reclusive property tycoon Harry Hyams of Oldham Estates for £290,000.

By then living a low life as tax-exiles in a tiny bungalow on Jersey, Lady Docker ( a forbear no doubt of Macca's ex) had not lost her punch. Obviously, the island and its people held few charms for her,"They're the most frightfully boring, dreadful people that have ever been born," she tartly observed.

Sir Bernard died in 1978, aged 81, while Lady Docker survived him until 1983 when she was found dead in a London hotel at the age of 78.

Lady Docker, photographed at the first day of Royal Ascot 1955, was always at the forefront of fashion, seen here in a wide-brimmed hat, an opulent mink stole and a lace dress.

PS : Evidently with an eye for show stopping show girls Berbard Docker was marreid briefly to Miss Ivy Sweet, the pretty daughter of a copper-beater better known as Jeanne Stuart who appeared in London in After All and It's A Girl, and was described at the time as "tall and of a figure that enables her to wear to advantage extremely modern-cut clothes", which, in both productions, "caused gasps of surprise on the first nights". She later performed alongside Jack Hulbert, Cicely Courtneidge, Jack Buchanan and many others.

Jeanne and Docker (against his father's wishes) married in London in April 1933 at a register office ceremony in Prince's Row, attended by the Duke and Duchess of Atholl, and they honeymooned in South America. Jeanne was given the later famous 860- ton yacht Shemara as a wedding present.

On the basis of meeting in "circumstances which left no doubt of their adultery" jeanne who had become raomtically entangled with West End star David Hutcheson. The Docker marriage lasted five months, and was finally dissolved in January 1933.

Northern Rock - full figures revealed - Ugandan babe exposed as busy body and unwanted by Darling

Northern Rock Timeline

1. 25th July 2007 Interim results published for 6 months ending 30th June 2007.

Interim dividend announced per share of 14.2p (2006 interim - 10.9p) - an increase of 30.3%

(Statutory profit before tax of £296.1 million up by 0.7% compared with H1 2006.)

2. We now know that on Friday August 3rd there were discussions involving at least the Bank of England the Financial Services Authority, Directors of Northern Rock and Lloyds Bank about the BOE approving funds up to £30Bn to Lloyds Bank PLC for 2 years for them to take over Northern Rock.

It is further apparent that Baroness Shriti Vadera and her ex employer UBS Warburg were involved in these discussions.

We also know now that the Chancellor of the Exchequer (who MUST have discussed this with the PM) dismissed this - and rumour has it that he effectively told the Ugandan princess to keep her fucking nose out of Treasury affairs and stick to her Ministerial brief.

(NB : Talking of briefs and the fragrant and unlovely Shriti, the Sunday Telegraph repeat the rumour on November 4th that the noisy Ugandan babe at Somerville purchased wholesale quantities of silken underthings when at Somerville (so , as she told colleagues she didn't need to wash them). The truth is that great sport was had with the lady - as the ultimate trophy for the Lothario's of those quarters was a pair of the vast knickers which they had to remove from the willing, (but alas unsatisfied limbs) of the loudly complaining lady. A correspondent adds (for those with a long memory) that she used to sew in "Janet Reger" product labels to impress he deceitful de-flowerers - which rather gave the game away as JR never made undergarments in such a capacious size).

3. Mervyn King in an interview on BBC "File on 4" ..

"I think most people expect that we have several more months to get through before the banks have revealed all the losses that have occurred, and have taken measures to finance their obligations that result from that, but we're going in the right direction."

"O" Level EConoics Paper Q 1.

How can Directors on the basis of interim profits up by 1% increase dividend by 33% and then less than 2 weeks later be involved in discussions for their take over involving a GUARANTEED Bank of England loab facility of £30Bn. for 2 years ?

Now after this ... (from their website)

Your money is safe with us. All new and existing savings are guaranteed.
Our new guarantee arrangements agreed with the Bank of England and H.M Treasury protects all retail savings in all accounts - regardless of the amount deposited. It applies to all existing accounts, all re-opened accounts and to all new accounts.

BBC Online report in the last hour ..."Northern Rock shares fell as much as 12% in early London trade after a report that savers had withdrawn £10.5bn from the stricken bank."

This whole episode displays criminal incompetence and the grossest misuse ever of public funds ... BOE exposure is now at least £25 Bn and looks like hitting £30Bn. ... not too far distant from the whole annual budget for the MOD. How the US came to make and love the Bomb

Churchill described the Battle of El Alamein in July 1942 as the "Hinge of Fate" ,because thereafter the allies never lost another battle.

The true Hinge of Fate was the allied landings in North Africa later that year when the US entered the war in Europe as a a combatant nation.

This started the eclipse of British global power, and the acceleartion of the decline of the British Empire and the rise of US global hegemony.

Known only to a few at the same time was the effort being made to produce the Atomic bomb by the US with help from German refugees. The result of an agrreement between Churchill and Roosevelt at the Presd.ient's Hyde Park Home on the banks of the Hudson River.

In June 1942 Klaus Fuchs a refugee ( and committed Marxist) from Hitler signed the OfficialSecrets Act and began work on the Manhattan project.

Alan Nunn May was born in 1911 in Kings Norton, Birmingham, the son of a brass founder. He was a clever child and scholarships took him first to King Edward’s School, Birmingham, and then to Trinity Hall, Cambridge, where he was tutored in physics by the inspirational P. M. S. Blackett and met some of the notorious group of spies with who he shared thier Marxist views.

When he went on to work in Canada on Project Manhattan he spied forthe Russians and provided a detailed account of the detonation of the first atomic bomb at Alamagordo, New Mexico, on June 16th 1945.

Donald Duart Maclean one of the Cambridge spies worked in the British Emabassy in Washington from 1944 to 1948 he ws the British representative on the American-British-Canadian council on the sharing of atomic secrets, he was able to provide the Soviet Union with minutes of Cabinet meetings. This knowledge alone gave the Soviet scientists the ability to predict the number of bombs that could be built by the Americans.

When the levels of broken secrets became apparent the US very sensibly passed The Atomic Energy Act of 1946, which determined how the United States government would control and manage the nuclear technology it had developed. Significantly it determined 2 vital points ;

1.Nuclear weapon development and nuclear power management would be under civilian, rather than military, control, and established the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission for this purpose.
2. A strict ban on the release of atomic technology to other powers, even to allies. This served to galvanize countries such as the United Kingdom, which had supplied personnel and information to the Manhattan Project team into constructing their own nuclear weapons.

The Bill was sponsored by Senator Brien McMahon, a Democrat from Connecticut, the chair of the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Atomic Energy whose hearings led to the fine-tuning and passing of the Act.

It defined a new legal term “restricted data” as “all data concerning the manufacture or utilization of atomic weapons, the production of fissionable material, or the use of fissionable material in the production of power,” unless the information has been declassified. The phrase “all data” included every suggestion, speculation, scenario, or rumor—past, present, or future, regardless of its source, or even of its accuracy—unless it was specifically declassified.

This restriction on free speech, covering an entire subject matter, is unique in American law. It is still in force.[1]

The Act passed through both houses of Congress and was signed by President Harry Truman on August 1, 1946 and it went into effect on January 1, 1947.

When the UK secretly attempted to develop their own nuclear weapons, they were forced after the failre of the Christmas island BOmb tests to discontinue research and buy their weapons from the US.

The UK is effectively now a launch pad for US Nuclear weapons - which the UK pay for... another legacy of the treachery of the war time Cambridge spies.

A commemorative stamp honoring Brien McMahon and his role in opening the way to peaceful uses of atomic energy was issued by the United States on July 28, 1962 at Norwalk, CT. The stamp features a portrait of McMahon facing a rendition of an atomic symbol.

McMahon also proposed proposed an "army" of young Americans to act as "missionaries of democracy", which sowed the seeds for what would later become the Peace Corps.

He died in Washington in 1952 aged 48. A wise and far sighted man.

It is against this that once must necessarily measure the US manic desire to repress ownership of atmic weapons technology.

CYprus remembers theft by Turks of Christian relics from ocupied churches in Christmas Stamps.

Whilst Prime Minister Brown cosies up to the Turkish Government, and the Turks get upset that the US Senate passes unpleasant bills remembering the slaughter of the Armenians. The despoilation of Christian relics goes on a pace in Northern Cyprus.

This Year the Cyprus post office issues memorial stamps ina Commemorative issue which willl go on sale on November 14th. These depict Murals From The Chapel Of St. Themonianus In The Turkish occupied village of Lysi. This chapel is a single aisled vaulted building with a dome. In all probability it was a private chapel as an inscription refers to the dedication of the chapel by the holy monk Lavrentios to the local St. Themonianus.

The little chapel was plundered completely by the Turks, probably between 1974 and 1983, under the strict surveillance of the occupying Turkish army and with the criminal intention of removing without exception everything including the wall paintings.

In 1983, a representative of the well known Menil Foundation Inc. of Texas found the stolen wall paintings in the flat of a Turkish art dealer in Munich. He is thought to be the same Turkish dealer who in 1988 sold the mosaics which had been removed from the church of Panagia Kanakaria in the occupied part of Cyprus, (see pic) and who came up with a variety of lies and justifications as to the origins of the stolen wall paintings. The Republic of Cyprus proved by irrefutable evidence that the stolen murals came from the chapel of St. Themonianus in occupied Lysi and successfully claimed their return to the island.

(See full horrifying history of Turkish desecration and commercial theft and sale of of holy relics here )

As the Orthodox Church of Cyprus was finally recognized as the legal owner of the stolen murals an agreement was reached whereby the murals were to be held on loan by the Menil Foundation Inc. of Houston, Texas, for a period of 15 years from the 1st January 1986 while also undertaking their restoration and safe keeping in an appropriate environment until their return to Cyprus. The restoration work was undertaken over a period exceeding 3 years in the specialist art atelier of Laurence Morocco in London. The restored murals were then transported to Houston and installed in a chapel built specifically for this purpose and which has the exact dimensions as the plundered chapel of St. Themonianus at Lysi.

The murals of St. Themonianus which depict Christ Pantocrator and the Panagia Orans attended by Archangels are considered among the most significant Cypriot religious works of art of the 13th-14th centuries.

Two of the stamps depict details from the mural in the apse of the chapel, the one portraying part of the Panagia Theotokos Orans and the other the Archangel Gabriel as shown now in Houston, Texas. The third stamp depicts Christ Pantocrator, the Supplication, the Preparation of Ihe Throne and the angels as installed in the dome of the chapel of SI. Themonianus in Houston, Texas.

The Menil Collection, which is operated by the Menil Foundation, Inc., opened to the public in June 1987 as the primary repository of John and Dominique de Menil’s private collection. One of the most significant of the twentieth century, the collection consists of nearly 15,000 works dating from the Paleolithic era to the present day. John Menil was CEO of the Schlumberger Coproration founded by his wife Demique's father and uncle.

Shrinking Balance Sheets, Falling Bankers as lies exposed

If you happen to run a large bank heavily exposed to SIV's and a big book on mortgages for double wides in Georgia swamplands keep away from the office on Sundays.

1.Warren J. Spector CEO of Bear Stearns resigned on a Sunday afternoon ,August 4th after the shares took a bath.

2. Chairman and chief executive Stan O'Neal having told the shareholders of Merrill Lynch he was writing off US$8.4 Bn of their funds didn't make it to this weekend - but shed no tears - 5 years with the bank he walks away with a modest US$161 Mn.

3. Meanwhile at Citigroup with over US$55 billion exposure to CDO's and having written off some US$6.4 Bn previously the Board sacked accepted the resignation of lawyer and Chief Executive Charles Prince over the weekend and wrote off another huge chunk on the Balance sheet ... so big they haven't added it all up yet .. it's between US$8BN and ..er... US$11Bn....ish.

It's evident now that Citigroup will post a loss in Q4 and the dividend is threatened.

On August 5th when we borough Citigroup's woes to you attention they were trading at US$46 - today ahead of opening they are making US$37.00 and will dive on the bell.

4. Over the weekend Sunday Times reports (without claiming source that £14 BN (US$29 Bn) has been withdrawn from Northern Rock Plc by savers (60% of deposits) since the Bank of England unwisely sarted lending them unlimited funds - now totalling an eye watering £29 Bn.

Gormless Chairman Matt Ridley fell on his sword two weekends ago - can CEO Applegarth be far behind ?

On BBC's "Today" program this am the bone headed Chancellor of the Exchequer said ..." The banking system is basically strong and in addition to that we have a very strong economy.''

He also told us that Northern Rock was "solvent".

"To be absolutely clear, if we believed that Northern Rock was not solvent, we would not have allowed it to remain open for business. " said Callum McCarthy, chairman of the FSA another one who should bne spending more time improving his golf.

The Rolling Thunder as Wall Street writes off Billions ... More to come...

"…Central bankers are surrounded by all sorts of experts and specialists. The problem is that these experts were invariably mistaken over the past year while LEAP/E2020 anticipated correctly the fall of the US dollar, the collapse of US real-estate, the subprime crisis, the bursting of the financial bubble, the ongoing crash of Spanish, French and British housing markets, etc…

At the beginning of last August, most of these experts were still negating the event of any severe crisis. Their incapacity in anticipating the real world’s evolution lies in two very simple (and non-exclusive) reasons: either they cannot tell what they really think because they are hired to say that “everything is fine” (this is the case for most specialised and mainstream media, as well as for ministers and ministries of economy and finance), or they are incapable of understanding the profound nature of this crisis as it does not specifically belong to the financial and economic sphere, but relates to the collapse of the geopolitical system created after 1945. In both cases, due to these conceptual limitations (of expression or understanding), experts are at best useless for the months to come and at worst dangerous, their advice being completely disconnected from reality."

Christ CHurch clebrates as another son of the "House" escapes Justice

The BBC reports ..."Home Secretary Jacqui Smith has rejected calls for Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Ian Blair to resign. "

Naturally, that was the deal, no-one gets fingered for Lord Levy selling Honours for party contributions and no-one gets the sack for murdering Charles de Menezes, in daylight in cold blood, in public. With 5/6/7/8/9... dum dum bullets to the head after being under surveillance for an hour.

Without the killers appearing in court to answer questions.

Without the members of the public who witnessed the nurder being called to give evidence of the threat that Charles de Menezes posed.

Without any public questioning of the illegal delay introduced by Sir Ian Blair to the IPCC undertaking an enquiry immediately whilst evidence was destroyed, doctored, stroies from the hyjm sheet synchronised etc., etc.,

Dog Shoots Man. Dog Fine.

Don't you just the love the shooting season (unless of course you are a hen-harrier and Prince Harry is within range) ...and the stories that follow?

James Harris ,37, was our shoting pheasants on the first day of the season in Iowa. putting his (loaded) gun on the ground to retreive a bird, his trusty dog Karl trod on it and hit him in the calf.

"He had surgery and is doing pretty well," someone is reported saying "He took between 100-120 pellets in about a 4-inch circle to his calf."

No one else was hurt, and the good news is dog was not injured.

Serve the cunt right, why anyone wants to obtain enjoyment from shooting wild life is beyond rational understanding.

Pity the pheasants couldn't gather round and peck the bastard to death.

The Venezualan Experience. Dudamel .. one hot Dude.

We are indebted to the excellent (and vastly underheard and underrated Rod Sharp on BBC Five's Up all Night) for flagging up President Chavez's concerns about 15 year old Venezulean girls on their "quinesa" or 15th birthday being given breast implants by their parents.

Unless hearing is going the way of Alzheimers, the report said that 400,000 Venezuelean women (Total pop. 26Mn !) seek breast "augmentation" every year at a cost of upwards of 2,000 Yanqui dollars a time... which seems highly improbable...but should do wonders for the tourist trade ... especially tha sad bastards who sit up all night or drive lorries up the M1 listening to this.

Chavez himself reminisces fondly about attending past beauty pageants. But when his televised speech to the United Nations interrupted the September 2005 Miss Venezuela broadcast for 15 minutes, hundreds of angry viewers in Caracas protested by banging on pots from their windows, blowing whistles and even firing guns into the air.

At the same time the child prodigies of the Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra of Venezuela will make their Bay Area debut(Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco - next up San Francisco, Boston and Carnegie Hall) led by Venezuelan wunderkind Gustavo Dudamel, 26 and the most talked-about conductor on the planet.

Those who have followed the ecstatic response in Europe have watched the superstars fighting to conduct them including Daniel Barenboim, Simon Rattle, Claudio Abbado and Esa-Pekka Salonen all who praise the youhful (and hey girls glamorous)Dudamel.

When Salonen leaves the Los Angeles Philharmonic,in 2 years Dudamel is lated to will take his place in Walt Disney Concert Hall.

For 30 years, Venezuela's music education program, known as "El Sistema" ( the state funded program that puts an instrument in any child's hand by the age of two)- or the "National Network of Youth and Children Orchestras of Venezuela" - has turned tens of thousands of youngsters into classical players. (Chavez takes the credit but it started long before he was elected) Dudamel the dynamic, rock-star-y conductor and the Simón Bolívar band (one of about 200 youth orchestras in the country today) are its shining stars.

The Department of Health in Venezuela devoted 29 Mn. Yanqui dollars this year to the program whichproduced 250,000 students who practice or play two to three hours a day ans 30 professional orchestras have sprung up to accommodate them, and 125 youth orchestras.

For a taste, go to www.youtube.com, search on "Gustavo Dudamel," and take your pick of videos: The wunderkind conducts Mahler, Shostakovich or Brahms. Or do an Internet search for "Gustavo Dudamel mambo proms," and click on: "Video gtltornt9 - gtltornt, 9 - Dailymotion Share Your Videos."

Girls, get ya tits out... this Dudamel is one hot Dude ... and he has dimples!

PS. Didn't George Best claim Miss Venezuela (AKA Miss World that year ?) was the best score he ever made ?

Northern Rock - sanderson contin ues the stream of lies about the company's funding

Matt Ridley, then chairman Northern Rock told a Parliamentary committee on Oct. 16 it had borrowed about 13 billion pounds.

His replacement as chairman Bryan Sanderson, told The Newcastle Journal newspaper, in an article posted on their website on Thursday November 1st in an interview with Sanderson in which he was quoted as saying: "The debt is not quite 20 billion pounds just yet but it's getting there and it could be as much as 25 billion pounds by February".

On Thursday afternoon November 1st , figures from the Bank of England showed Northern Rock has now borrowed up to 22.8 billion pounds since being offered emergency funds on Sept. 14.

"If a few little things had been different this might never have happened," Sanderson told the Newcastle Journal.

Such as the Board being involved in a criminal conspiracy, preparing and issueing accounts knowing them to be fraudulent, trading whilst insolvent and continuing to lie and provide misleading information to the Stock Market, the Press, the Public, borrowers and lenders.

A week ago we exposed the soraing debt at the BOE, the controversial history of Sanderson at the Alliance and Leicester and called for administrators to be called in.A week later it is evident that sandersonn hasn't a clue what is gouing on and continuing to make misleading and dishionmest statements.

Trade in the shares is a false market and should be stopped without delay.

Royal Blackmail - a long history ... Amazing Pictures

Once again blackmail and the Royal Family are being used in the same sentence, as Ian Strachan (AKA Paul Einar Ian Adalsteinsson ), 30, and Sean McGuigan, 40, have been arrested and charged with blackmail of a royal cabinet maker.

The problem is that the Royal Family have a long history of blackmailing, using fillums and video. Perhaps the most famous being the need to send the spy Anthony Blunt to Germany at the end of the war on a mysterious mission.

Prince Philip's sister Sophie married Prince Christoph of Hesse who had joined the Nazi Party in 1933. He became the chief of the Forschungsamt (directorate of scientific research) in about 1935 , a special intelligence operation run by Hermann Göring, and he was also Standartenführer (colonel) of the SS on Heinrich Himmler's personal staff. The Forschungsamt used telephone intercepts and listening devices to police the Nazi Party, and worked with the Gestapo against the Catholic Church, the Jews, and labour organizations. They also collected incriminating evidence to arrange for killings, blackmail, extortion etc.,

Prince Philip who had close connections with Edward VIIIth. The once lamost and future King was, Portuguese Secret Service files disclose, in close collaboration with the Nazis in Spain and Portugal to foment a revolution in wartime Britain, that would topple the Churchill government, depose his brother King George VI, and allow him to regain the throne, with Mrs Simpson at his side. Portuguese surveillance revealed that Walter Schellenberg, head of Gestapo counterintelligence, was one point of contact in this plot. After Schellenberg met with the Spanish ambassador to Portugal, Nicolás Franco, brother of fascist Gen. Francisco Franco, Ambassador Franco told a Portuguese diplomat: ``The Duke of Windsor, free from the responsibilities of the war, in disagreement with English politicians, could be the man to put at the head of the Empire.''

Therefore fillum of the future King Edward VIIIth fellating Hitler on the terrace at the Berchetsgaden with the nymphomaniac Wallis doing unmentionable things with Hitler's favourite shepherd dog Prinz, in the background, from Philip's brother in law was dynamite. Whilst the identity of Hilter can be adduced from his monotesticular state and a curious groin scar, and the oddly cut revers of his jacket. Wallis's identity has been disputed as being Eva Braun, but due to Hilter being horizontally challenged she was forbidden to ware high heels which the performer quite evidently is.

Anyway possession of the fillum enabled his mother (and crucially Philip's future mother in law) to ensure that he never again set foot in England.

Anthony Blunt was of course the slim hipped body whose image was used by Burgess to blackmail Mclean as he leisurely buggered the art historian. These famous pictures were taken (along with many, many others) at 6 Bendick Street, the house which Lord Rothschild provided free for the coterie of Marxist plotters for the course of the war. The tastefully furnished bedroom in patriotic red, white and blue with a huge double bed was the sight and location of many filmed orgies.

Paradoxically the address bears a blue plaque as witness to the home of Gibbon who wrote the Decline and Fall of one Empire , and also provided the locale of those seeking to destroy another .. and succeeding.

Of course blackmailing the Royal family is a delicate business as they are such adroit practioners themselves. It is for this reason that they maintain a record of the physical characteristics of each member for reference to check authenticity.

Consequently the many brief fleeting scenes alleged to be of "Squiffy" and Stiffy" have to be cross referenced on an almost daily basis, and that of their brief and amorous "friends".

This photographic collection used to be held at an MI5 safe house in Praed Street but has been moved and amalgamated to accomodate the Princess of Wales personal collection and the collection of glass dildoes that an octogenarian glass worker from Tetbury had fashioned from life from various royal personages, some out of vanity and some by admiring wives and girlfriends. It is essential to keep this updated to keep abreast of thje body piercings, tongue studs, tattoos etc., of the younger Royals and their assorted mistresses, boy friends and drug suppliers.

The advance of the digital age and the digital image is such that the tiny unit had become overwhelmed and is now located in the old stables at Sandringham (more correctly .. underneath).

The tsunami of digital gadgetry has also rendered new methods of collection of "evidence" and one of the royal tearaways ("Squiffy" or "Stiffy" it is unclear) had taken to using a (borowed) military night sight head set whilst roaming the drug fuelled orgies, so that the user could survey the action in the dimly lit purlieues of the royally infested clubs, pubs and boudoirs.( for really sick scense for the "zoo" clientele these can be maounted on dogs ... see pic)

To this had recently been added a tiny digital camera, as worn by the Metropolitan Police.

Unbeknown to the user menacing triple lensed and frightening headgear meant the user was providing a signal faithfully recorded on the banks of recorders deep in the bowels of the Met surveillance Centre. Strachan, a property developer and McGuigan (said to be a part time car valeter) had stumbled upon the footage of Princess Margaret's favourite son and part time DIY woodworker, cocksucking and cocaine sniffing whilst entertaining a "senior London Policeman". (He is also 12th in line for the Throne)

Strachan has applied for bail (his lawyer is the crazy bastard, Giovanni di Stefano - who acted for Saddam Hussein and Slobodan Milosevic ) which is being held as we speak at the Old Bailey behind (unusually) closed doors.

Princess Margaret was of course the star of many fillums, the most extraordinmary of which featured John Bindon who was celebrated to be able to nalance thre half pints on his member - which could be extended by a sherry glass (small) by Margaret by the adroit and skilful use of a curiously contrived golden finger stall that Cartier made on her instructions (aided, said by some, by the Duchess of Windsor).

It is said that when she arrived wearing this golden ornament the guests knew they were in for some high jinks and that the more "colourful" the display, the the more likely that the "colourful" house servants of her Caribbean hideaway would be involved in the evening's entertainment.

With thanks for assistance to she boy Tulipa Veeraswamy, "Roland Rat", and the extrordianrily helpful archivist at Baron Desmond's Sexpress Pornographic Film Archive. The fascinating pictures of Lord Levy and friends are safe in our safe.
