5th Anniversary of Morecambe Cockle Pickers

On February 5th 2004, 23 Chinese cockle pickers drowned because they were illegally employed by a ruthless and criminal gangmaster. The cockle pickers were abandoned on the mud flats of Morecambe Bay as the tide rose at a rate said to be ‘faster than a galloping horse’.

They had no protection.

They had no escape.

Two bodies have never been recovered.

Lin Liang Ren the main man, was convicted on 21 counts of manslaughter and sentenced to fourteen years imprisonment followed by deportation to China.

His girlfriend Zhao Xiaoqing (2 yrs 9 months) and cousin Lin Muyong (4 yrs 9 months) were found guilty of the immigration offences.

Father and son both named as David Anthony Eden , from Prenton in Merseyside, who bought cockles from the work gang, were cleared of helping the workers break immigration law.

As a result the Gangmaster Licensing Authority was set up (brainchild of Jim Sheridan MP) , led by incompetent and probably corrupt ex Chief of Sussex police Paul Whitehouse, who resigned just before he was sacked by the corrupt and unpleasant Home Secretary David Blunkett has made a fine chairman.

The GLA are to be congratulated on having quietly, firmly and efficiently whipped the gangmasters into shape, the leading supermarkets into reluctant compliance and their suppliers into a sullen acceptance that mediaeval work practices have to stop.(Search site on GLA of many of their successes)

Self-employed workers were banned from the Olympic site under an agreement signed late in 2007, after UCATT had warned that their presence invited illegal foreign labourers to seek work on the site, and could lead to strikes. The union claims that after a delay, the agreement is now being enforced. This was a a result of a slide around weasel word deal whereby Romanians and Bulgarians whose nations had joined the EU in 2006, were denied rights of equal access for work as other constituent EU nations citizens, to work in the UK, but they were granted an unrestricted right to start their own businesses here. The Romanians working on the Olympic site "claimed" they qualified to work because they were self employed.

Quite what the emplyment status, unionised or other of Chairman Lord Coe is remains unanswered (even if asked). See FOOTNOTE

2. Andy McSmith of the Independent in the above article reveals some 200 Romanian construction workers who were helping to build the 2012 Olympic Park have been "quietly sacked" in the past two months during a clampdown on illegal foreign labour, .... it has been alleged by a "senior source".

3. A PMQ (source cannot be referenced to Hansard but is widely quoted in the Press) revealed that nearly one in 20 of the workers employed there in 2008 had been arrested for working illegally. Between April and December 2008, 136 illegal immigrants were caught working on the site, according to figures obtained by the Conservatives. An answer to a written parliamentary question revealed that 16 had been prosecuted, 11 removed from the UK, 19 granted leave to remain, and 90 were either awaiting a decision, or awaiting travel documents prior to being removed from the UK.

4. Until last year, Romanians made up about 6 % of the workforce on the Olympic site, making them its third-biggest national group, after the British and Irish, according to one source. The wrokforce numbers will rise this year to about 6,000.

In another report an ODA spokesperson said: “These figures demonstrate our joint efforts with the UK Borders Agency (UKBA) to ensure people working on site are legally entitled to do so. Since early last year (2008) UKBA representatives have been on site working in partnership with our staff and contractors checking the documentation for every worker employed on the Olympic park. This protection will have led to many of these investigations and also we, our contractors and the Metropolitan Police facilitate intelligence-led investigations on site.”

Really, really good news on the Eurofighter Tranche 2 - it can drop bombs ! Well 2 so far without any Flutter and with clear separation.

Our Mole in the Ministry tells us that after 20 years development (maiden flight feb 2003) the Phase 1 Enhancements (P1E) Development for Tranche 2 Eurofighter Typhoon Block 8 (including 72 aircraft for Saudi Arabian Air Force to be reckoned with) has dropped 2 (yes that's two) Enhanced GBU-16 1000lb bombs. These separated safely.

The 2 bombs were dropped from Instrumented Production Aircraft (IPA) 4 which has now joined the P1E air vehicle flight trials programme in the south of Spain .

Sumultaneously Italian IPA2 is also performing trials with the 500lb Paveway IV bomb.

The current " Flutter" and "Environmental " trials, are essentially focused on confirming the aircraft performance characteristics with the new class of dual mode guided 500lb bombs.

Now the P1E development is in full swing, the Avionics Development is also gathering cracking along at a similiar breakneck speed and bits are now being tested on the rigs in order to start Avionics Flight Trials later this year.

PS : For those readers not up to speed the principal difference between Tranche 1 and Tranche 2 Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft is the new suite of computers. These provide more processing power (speed and memory capacity) which will will be the enabler for future capability insertion (more bits to go wrong says our man with the spanners).

All Tranche 2 weapon systems will eventually go through the Phase One Enhancements programme, agreed in March 2007, which covers:

1.New software
2.Enhanced multi-role Man-Machine Interface (MMI)
3.“Full” Laser Designator Pod (LDP) integration
4.Enhancements to MIDS, GPS, DASS, Communications
5.Additional weapons: Paveway IV; EGBU-16

Two rockets were launched at around 6:50 am on Saturday morning . One landed in the Sdot Negev Regional Council and the other landed somewhere in the Eshkol Regional Council. There were no reports of injuries or damage although Haaretz report that Three rockets struck the Eshkol region, two of them landing in open fields and the third on land close to two kindergartens.

On Saturday morning, a Grad rocket exploded in an open area south of Ashkelon. There were no injuries in this incident either.

Ma'aleh Adumim - huge new setttlement reday for massive expansion

Ma'aleh Adumim (derived from the book of Joshua (Chapter 15, verses 6-18)) is 7 kilometers (4.5 miles) east of Jerusalem and links the Jordan Valley and Judean Desert to , Jerusalem. Historically, foreign powers ruling the area - from the Romans to the Jordanians - attempted to secure this route and considered Ma'aleh Adumim strategically crucial to the defense of Jerusalem. After the Yom Kippur war the Israeli government decided to allow the establishment of a "residential camp" for workers in the area, (know today as "Founders Hill"), and a Jewish settlement has subsequently developed in the region. Spanish judge accepts war crimes charges against former Israeli Defense Minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer

Spanish justice authorities have opened an investigation into a murderous Gaza bombing ordered by former Israeli Defense Minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer and involving 6 other high-ranking Israel military officials. The Israelis intended to kill Hamas leader Salah Chehadeh in July 2002 at any collateral cost.

So they blew up an entire building with a one tonne bomb in the Al-Daraj quarter, killing 14 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and wounding 150 otheers.

Madrid Judge Fernando Andreu has accepted the complaint lodged by the Palestinian Center for Human Rights, saying that there was "evidence of crimes against humanity" as part of a "premeditated and predetermined strategy".[Via Le Monde]

The suit was originally launched by six survivors in June 2008, of a 2002 Israeli bomb attack and the relatives of attack's casualties and also names Dan Halutz, former Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff and Israel Air Force commander at the time.

Haaretez report today "Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Moratinos telephoned Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni on Friday, and told her his government was undertaking swift action to amend the law in an effort to limit the courts' authority and thus prevent such investigations from being pursued.

Livni welcomed Spain's decision to amend the law, and said it was an important announcement for the Israeli public.

Meanwhile in campaigning for the forthcoming elections Netanyahu, whose likud party is ahead in the polls Netanyahu has made it clear that if elected, he would set clear limits on what is negotiable.

"We will not conduct negotiations on Jerusalem, the capital of the Jewish people for the past three thousand years," he said in a speech to the Knesset, Israel's parliament.

"We will not return to the 1967 borders," he said, adding that the Golan Heights as well as the Jordan Valley and the Judean Desert in the occupied West Bank "will continue to serve as the state of Israel's eastern security belt."

Qatari LNG gas to arrive in South Wales, real soon now

The Tembek, (built at Samsung's Geoje Yard, Korea and registered in Mjuro in the Marshall Islands ) one of a new generation of so-called Q-Flex LNG tankers, with a capacity of 211,885 cubic meters of LNG left Qatar and transited the Suez canal on or about Jan 23rd 2009.

She is due to dock at South Hook LNG, Milford Haven (a joint venture Qatar Petroleum, Exxon Mobil Corp. and Total SA) any day , marking Qatar’s arrival as the key natural gas supplier to the U.K. The ship will stop near the U.K. so its arrival coincides with final commissioning steps of the terminal in the “next few weeks,” the company says.

BG Group Plc’s Dragon LNG terminal at Milford Haven also awaits commissioning.

South Hook expects to receive as much as 7.5 million tons of LNG a year, or 10.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas, in its first phase. The terminal’s capacity is planed to double by 2012.

Dragon and South Hook together will have a combined import capacity of 19.4 million tons of LNG a year, or 26.7 billion cubic meters of natural gas.

Currently the U.K. is a higher-priced market than the U.S. at present, making it more attractive for Qatari shipments. Gas for delivery next month at Henry Hub in Louisiana, the U.S. benchmark price, traded at US$4.74 a million BTU's on Jan 22nd on the New York Mercantile Exchange - approximately US3 less than February gas delivered UK.

Typically, one or more initial cargoes of LNG are used to cool down a new import facility’s pipes and storage tanks to the correct operating temperature. LNG is natural gas chilled to liquid form at minus 161 degrees Celsius (minus 258 Fahrenheit) to aid transportation and storage.

Qatar exported 38 billion cubic meters of gas in 2007, up 24 % on 2006, according to BP’s Statistical Review of World Energy. Qatar plans to produce 77 Mn tons by 2010. That’s equal to 106 billion cubic meters of gas, roughly equivalent to UK annual consumption.

PS. The Tembek is owned through a joint venture between Qatar Gas Transport Company (Nakilat) and OSG, from which Qatargas will charter the vessel. Mr Angus Cambell, is Head of OSG Gas (Overseas Shipholding Group - 666 Third AvenueNew York, NY 10017) and his beautiful wife Naomi named the ship September 13th 2007.

UPDATE : 1600 BST Frid 30-1-09 BG Group PLC-operated (BG.LN) Dragon liquefied natural gas terminal at Milford Haven in Wales, the South Hook LNG terminal at Milford Haven have been hit by walkouts related to protesters demonstrating at Total SA's (TOT) 220,000 barrels-a-day Lindsey Oil Refinery in Immingham, northern England.

Arrest in Langbar fraud case in which Lord Levy's "cash for Coronets " sidekick Barry Townsley was involved with other N London football supporters

Spanish police arrested six people tied to a $600 million fraud committed at Langbar International Ltd., (AKA Crown Corp) is a murky Bermuda-based "investment company" . It has been the subject of leisurely scrutiny by the Serious Fraud Office since 2005.

In a nutshell Crown/Langbar is a Bermuda-registered company, founded by a Polish-Canadian, backed by Israeli money, which traded in Argentina, banked its money in Brazil (Banco de Brasil) , had its accounts audited in Spain (Barcelona based Gironella Velasco ) ... and, which thanks to British financial advisers (see below - all keen supporters of North London football clubs) , listed its shares on the London stock market.

The Spanish police have just arrested 6 people ( between 56 and 76 years old at residences in Madrid, Barcelona and Alicante) in what they claim is a US$600 Mn. fraud .

The company operated as a "cash shell" quoted on London Alternative Investment Market (AIM) , shareholders included at one time Merrill Lynch and Gartmore . The fraud originally came to notice when it was announced £ 370 Mn. had evaporated from its accounts.

“The present board of Langbar International is determined to discover exactly what has transpired concerning company funds and to pursue their recovery,” the company said on its Web site. “Our aim is to restore value for shareholders to the maximum that can be achieved.”

The fraud appears to date back to 2003, when the suspects allegedly attracted investors through false claims about the company’s assets, police said. This involved all sorts of floated lies that there was the “very exciting” $294m demerger of Crown Pharmaceutical, which was going to buy a Russian drugs company, and Crown Development, an eastern European property company.Once the shares rose, the suspects sold their holdings, according to the Spanish police.

El Pais reported that the six men arrested were charged and released and that one of the suspects was a former Israeli Mossad agent - believed to be 2 metre tall, 30 lb gorilla Abraham “Avi” Arad, and said to be a mathematical genius - who is understood to be the same person as one of the men arrested on January 21 as the fascinating and much sought after, Abraham Hochman.

The SFO declined to comment on any plans to extradite the arrested men.
Officials at the U.K.’s Financial Services Authority declined to comment, as did those at the City of London Police and the London Stock Exchange.

In April Langbar’s founder, Mariusz Rybak, agreed to pay about 30 million pounds in April to settle a lawsuit brought by the company’s directors and the judge made him sell his house in Monaco. They alleged that Rybak falsified the company’s assets as part of a fraud against investors. Mrs Izabela Rybak (‘‘Mrs Rybak’’), and a company incorporated in Monaco, SCI Atol a company allegedly owned and controlled by Mrs Rybak and her daughter also seems to feature sonwehere in this tangled tale.

In 2007 Nabarro Wells, the finance house that floated Langbar, was fined £250,000 by the London Stock Exchange for failings related to the affair. NW has since April 2008 been part of Ambrian Capital plc , an AIM listed specialist investment banking group focused on the mining, oil & gas, alternative energy and new technology sectors.

Mariusz Rybak, is / was described as a Canadian technology executive, and Jean-Pierre Regli, a Swiss-Italian banker were the co-founders . It may surprise many to discover that they were on good terms with Barry Townsley and Simon Fox of stockbroker Insinger Townsley. Barry was of course also a great supporter of frank Donson's abortive bid to be Mayor of London.

Barry of course was/is a good friend of the Karaoke King (AKA Lord Levy and pal of the Qratet's envoy in the Middle East Tony Blair) who promised him and Earldom and half of Surrey, and a string of live in chorus girls as well as eternal life , in exchange for a loan to the New Labour Party. Apparently an investigation by BBC London has discovered that for at least 6 months companies building facilities for the £ 9.6 Bn. 2012 London Olympics are being forced to sign "draconian" gagging orders (which the BBC has seen) prevent suppliers talking publicly about all details of the work to anybody for any reason for six years.

The document also warns firms they must "reimburse the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) for any costs or liabilities" arising from any breach of contract including all legal costs.

Should the ODA suspect a leak they can search a firm's premises and emails.

Government funding of over £840,000 written off to charity which contributed £7,500 twice to Labour Party

1. Catz club (a a non profit organisation Ho.Ho.Ho.) was registered in 2004 by Amanda and Stephen Argent and operates as Schoolfriends etc. and runs about 150 breakfast clubs in schools nationwide (case study) for some 25,000 children. Ending September 2006 (last Accounts available) they received £853 K (including £200,000 of lottery funding ) and and expenditure was £4.257 Mn. 2008 accounts are overdue.


2. An MP unnamed in the report but it was Greg Clark, then the shadow charities minister, on Friday 29th August 2008 disclosed that the Charity had donated £7,500 cash donation to the Labour Party in breach of Commmission's guidance.


3. The payment was initially explained as an "administrative error" by trading subsidiary Catz Club Care Services Ltd.,


4. A further and identical sum had been paid to the Labour Party to cover the costs of attending an even to lobby senor politicians for funds for after school care. It has relied on the generosity of Tony Mitchell, its chairman, who is based in Florida and had outstanding loans to the charity of £13.1m in the year to September 2007.

At the Wembley event in 2007, Mitchell chatted with Ed Balls, the children’s secretary. He said Catz Club paid £15,000 for just three people to attend the function.

Mitchell runs the Warburg Investment Corporation, (No connection with UBS Warburg bankers) a factoring company which buys invoices from organisations at less than their face value, then collects the full sum.


5. The "misapplied" funds have been repaid by the Labour Party.

Catz Club has revealed that it failed to pay back approximately £570,000 out of £1.3m it borrowed from Futurebuilders. Futurebuilders has written off part of the £1.8m loan it made to the after-school childcare charity Catz Club. (Now known to be £840,000).


New Cabinet Office minister Liam Byrne has agreed to make inquiries about the roles played by two people with Labour Party connections in the funding of childcare charity Catz Club by Futurebuilders England.


Margaret McDonagh, former general secretary of the Labour Party , is a former trustee of the childcare charity, which trades under the name Schoolfriendetc . Amanda Delew, who fundraises for the charity (and of course has worked hand in glove with cash for coronets crook Lord Levy) , is an ex-Labour fundraiser. Futurebuilders , is a £215m government fund to help charities deliver public services.


Curiously ,Futurebuilders England has deleted from its website , references to its £1.8m loan and £200,000 grant to Catz Club.

Yvonne Leach, Boeing 787 chief spokeswoman told Lord Patel ona c rackly line out of Seattle yestedray... "The small number of fasteners that won't be replaced are not easy to reach and don't represent a safety of flight issue,"

Apparently they will be able to withstand the cycle of loads for testin, and Boeing is confident the nonconforming fasteners will not be a safety problem during flight tests. ... so that's alright then.

Chairman and Chief Executive Jim McNerney will be announcing Q4 2008 results tommorrow and may make some encouraging noises after the dead silence since early December.

It is known 4 planes are production in Everett and final assembly might begin on No 5 this week - followed later by No 6 . After testing they will all go to San Antonio (well out of the way) , where they will be refurbished and turned over to customers that have ordered them.

The fastener problems were only identified during a key pressurization test on one of the first 787s in Everett, when Boeing engineers discovered that some of the permanent fasteners had been correctly installed improperly by Boeing's partners. Those partners were working with drawings from Boeing engineers, and Boeing has acknowledged the mistake was the result of ambiguous or incomprehensible instructions.

The FAA are fully aware of these problems and have approved the steps that Boeing have taken in deciding to speed up flight testing by using non-conforming bodies.

By last night the BBC said they received "approximately" 1,000 phone complaints and 10,000 by e-mail on the issue.

Douglas Alexander, the International Development Secretary, and Alex Salmond, the First Minister, said the BBC should reconsider their decision.

Director General of the BBC Mark Thompson (AKA Mr Jane Blumberg), evidently under instruction from the Metropolitan Zionist / Israeli cabal , made it clear he did not intend to back down. The Saudi was identified as Zabi ul Taifi and was described as a senior operative (some reports say he is a Saudi national from Taifi) in the July 7, 2005, bombings in London. Taifi and his cohorts were captured in a "militant den," Geo News reported based on a tip from Pakistani intelligence sources. The al Qaeda operatives were holed up in the village of Bara Qadeem.

April 2008Alan Duncan becomes director of Arawak energy, an oil company specialising in eastern europe, Arawak energy is 41.5% owned by Vitol.

June 2008Alan Duncan employs Carter-Ruck solicitors to obtain an apology from the Sunday Times to clarify that Ian Taylor donated money to the Conservative party, not directly to Alan Duncan.

June 2008Alan Duncan’s register of members interests makes clear his office was funded by donations from Ian Taylor which were made to the Conservative party.

White phosphorus results in painful chemical burn injuries. The resultant burn typically appears as a necrotic area with a yellowish color and characteristic garliclike odor. White phosphorus is highly lipid soluble and as such, is believed to have rapid dermal penetration once particles are embedded under the skin. Because of its enhanced lipid solubility, many have believed that these injuries result in delayed wound healing. This has not been well studied; therefore, all that can be stated is that white phosphorus burns represent a small subsegment of chemical burns, all of which typically result in delayed wound healing.

Incandescent particles of WP may produce extensive burns. Phosphorus burns on the skin are deep and painful; a firm eschar is produced and is surrounded by vesiculation. The burns usually are multiple, deep, and variable in size. The solid in the eye produces severe injury. The particles continue to burn unless deprived of atmospheric oxygen. Contact with these particles can cause local burns.

These weapons are particularly nasty because white phosphorus continues to burn until it disappears. If humans (or animals) are hit by pieces of white phosphorus, it could burn right down to the bone. Burns usually are limited to areas of exposed skin (upper extremities, face).
